"We came to Trier for the Christmas market and to visit the Roman sites. The hotel was ideally placed for both. There's no restaurant but the hotel buffet breakfast was excellent and catered well for a gluten intolerance. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. Parking in the underground carpark was fine if a little tight to navigate in a bigger car. The staff were excellent and helpful. They spoke perfect English but humoured our schoolboy German! All round good."

"Loved the place but the room we stayed in was on the 3rd floor and not only was there no elevator but the stair case was very narrow and difficult to bring the luggage up. "Disappointed that the extra bed was not ready for us despite reception knowing that it was a room for 2 adults and a child at check in we had to go back to reception to get a child’s bed. The hotel says that children stay free, but that was not our experience as my friend had the room next door and she paid less using the same booking platform and we booked at the same time. "

"Na zoveel positieve reviews waren wij erg benieuwt naar dit huis in het voor ons nog onbekende Saarland/Duitsland. Bij aankomst werden we heel hartelijk ontvangen door de gastheer en gastvrouw. "A lovely, well-equipped house in a stunning location with its own fabulous garden. Brilliant for our family group of 10. Lots to do locally. The gem museum, gem mine, Celtic settlement were great trips and the open-air swimming pool in Rhaunen was much enjoyed. We visited Herrstein twice! Klaus and Anna were really helpful hosts. Highly recommended."
