"Set in isolated rural village with lovely views and walks. Our vist was marred by horrendous wet weather,but we made the best of it. Mark and Madeline were lovely people who made us welcome and dealt with any issues and gave advice about the area."

"The cottage was dirty, the kitchen smelt of grease and all the pots where dirty. It smelt very fusty like it had been left unused for a long time. Beds where very uncomfortable, my wife described it as the worst nights sleep she has ever had. None of my kids could sleep either. Left after the first night and had to spend more money to stay somewhere. When I mentioned all this to the host they completely ignored me and stopped responding to my messages."

"Lovely little lodge with lots of sweet extra touches like fairy lights, a cosy fireplace and outdoor bath. The fully enclosed, large garden is ideal for dogs and children, with beautiful views from every angle. Lovely to see horses and cows so close. Jon is an excellent and very friendly host. We were looked after very well, whilst left in privacy as a family. "Had a really great time in this house. Ample space for everyone to chill out, relax and the location was pretty good too. The outdoor space was definitely the highlight. Well manicured lawn, play area, lounge."

"First, the only way go stay closer to the cathedral would be to pitch a tent on the lawn! So much room, large kitchen and separate dining room. Really large bedrooms. Entire house super well kept and clean. We are picky travelers and we loved this place! "

It was difficult to communicate with the person overseeing the stay as the email links with vrbo didn’t work and the details on the vrbo site were inadequate including incorrect directions. This was all because the properties in this development are also on the market and the site is not quite finished. This put the housekeeper in a difficult position. "This was a perfect place to stay, just a few minutes' walk from the centre of Shaftesbury. The hosts had thought of everything to make the accommodation a real home-from-home. We could not have wished for more. "

"We really enjoyed our stay at the bungalow, which was ideal for my disabled husband. We were out meeting friends every day so the area was good. As said before by others, it would have been nice to have a small freezer section in the fridge. A small folding stool would be handy in the kitchen. The garden would be lovely in the summer.
