No cereal although there were some boxes but no dishes or milk. No options on what we wanted. We’d booked it fo 8:30 am on a Sunday morning so not late. The hotel was adequate in regards to their facilities, and the owner was very friendly, which is always a plus. The room was small, but fine for an overnight stay. It was a little bit musty in smell, though probably just needed airing a little bit more. Breakfast was reasonable and I was accommodated for allergies and preference. "

"The Old Lock Up was clean,warm, and welcoming. I stayed for 3 nights in the Solicitor's room, which I found pleasant and characterful, with a comfortable bed and a good sized ensuite. It was very quiet with really thick walls. The breakfast was great and beautifully cooked. The property is well situated a short walk from the centre of Wirksworth. I managed it easily even with a sprained ankle. I had a very pleasant stay."

"Bed was a little lumpy but didn't stop us sleeping. Place is a bit tired and seems to be a bit of a hotel / hallway house. A few characters having a ciggy outside but they didn't cause any noise or anything later when we got back from a night in Derby. At the end of the day it was really cheap and included breakfast. The host was a chap who was very polite and couldn't do enough for you."

The toilet would flush and leak out at the back, 1 small room with lots of cramped beds, glue on the floor was everywhere, the shower was blocked and leaked underneath. The list goes on"

"Booked a one night stay to extend another hotel stay close by so we could do the Churnet Valley rail trip. Had a comfortable stay, everything very clean & comfortable. Was a little disconcerted to find we were actually staying in the house with the owner, an unknown experience for us. Julie was very friendly & helpful. Really appreciated the cold bottles of water we were given and the brunch bar."

"It was a comfortable stay. There were a few things that could be seen as a safety issue but nothing that’s not fixable. The radiators didn’t work and the room did get quite cold but other than that it was a secure and safe place. I didn’t have to worry about people coming in and out of the building because of the key codes which is good! I would stay here again as it’s quite affordable and again, a comfortable stay.
