You looking for an authentic Hawaiian Nautical experience? Let the Whaler's Inn be your perfect spot to relax, set your sails with us and put down your anchor. We are located right in Downtown Hilo just Minutes away from Shops, Restaurants and just a stroll to the Ocean of Hilo Bay.

Modern Open concept with brand new bathroom and kitchen awaits you! Come stay with us and let us know if you have any questions we happy to help!

Our place is perfect for family and friends or business. Brand new renovated and well equipped with all the essentials you will need after a day of exploring - you will LoVe your stay!

You will feel our nautical details in every room and can learn a lot about Whales at the same time if you like. The koholā (humpback whale) was well known to the early Hawaiians.

Our space offers a brand new Kitchen - designed in the colours of blue, white and Autumn Blush. The kitchen is well equipped as well. Another Highlight is the new renovated Bathroom especially the Shower - Throughout the home we have nice lighting plus ceilingfans and curtains in every room. The rooms are Breezy and have all the privacy you need to relax. Another Extra of this Home is also that we added a Brand new Washer and Dryer a guest feature as well as some Beach Essentials like Beach Towels for you to use so you do not have to bring it.

You can self Check-in with our Smart Lock. Easy Self Check-in via Code.

We are always available for our guests via phone call or text message or simply through the messenger just reach out to us we are happy to help.

Our single family home is located in Downtown Hilo with an upstairs and downstairs. You will have the Street level House all to your self with 2 Private entrances.
We will send you a four digit code for your self check-in.

Cute Hilo Cottage
This cottage was a wonderful and relaxing place for our 2-day stay in Hilo. The hosts made us feel right at home with inviting decor and homey touches as welcome gifts. Will certainly keep this place in mind if we ever come back to Hilo!

Great house and experience
We had a great time at this property. Everything was well thought out (extra bedding, crib for kids, stuff for cooking), and we liked the small touches like the coffee and treats. The hosts were very helpful and communicated well during the process. We would be looking to stay here again the next time we come to Hawaii!

Merrie Monarch Special!
We stayed here for Merrie Monarch and it was in the perfect location, central to everything! Parking was always available, the property was clean and stocked with everything we needed. The property manager/cleaners even mailed a necklace to us that my son left behind!! We will definitely stay here again. Mahalo!!!

Very cool place in Hilo
We loved this house. It had everything we needed, even olive oil and coffee, a great washer and dryer, and amazing decor. We spent a lot of time marvelling at all the whale-themed items and choosing our favourites. The beds are very soft, our preference would be for firmer ones, but otherwise perfect for us.

Hilo Getaway
A comfortable, well-equipped house close to the center of Hilo. The kitchen had everything we needed for meal preparation. The absence of air conditioning was not a problem. Open windows did allow for some street noise, but the house made us feel like we were part of the neighborhood.

Wonderfully renovated Hilo house.
Newly renovated house in the heart of Hilo. Nicely appointed and very clean and comfortable. Kitchen is fully equipped and everything is nearly brand new. Wonderful location with easy access to all parts of the Hilo and East side communities. The owners are very responsive and the reservation process as well as checking in was very easy and smooth. I would and will definitely stay here again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

A Whale of a Time
A beautifully decorated apartment in Hilo. The theme was whales and there were so many beautiful ornaments--tasteful, not tacky--it was a lovely stay. The rooms were big and airy, and light-filled, all with fans...which we needed. The kitchen was well equipped, and the owner left us some local treats! It really felt like a home in Hilo. Recommended.

Perfect home base for Big Island East-side adventures
The cottage was charming and everything we needed for our 2 night stay. We wanted to have a relaxed visit to Volcanoes National Park (i.e. not driving to/from Kona side of island all in one day), visit a couple of waterfalls and do a zip line tour, and Whaler’s Inn was perfect. Fun decor, a well equipped kitchen, and comfortable bedding. The extra fans were very appreciated both to drown out the sounds of nature (birds/frogs) at night/early morning and to cool down the house. The house is centrally located with respect to Hilo - everything we needed was within a mile. If we come back to the area, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Extremely well thought out and stocked rental
I've never seen a place as wonderfully stocked as this kitchen was! It was a lovely rental for our few days in Hilo. Large and full of eco-friendly cleaning and storage options. Given that it was December and it wasn't really possible to ever close all of the windows, , I wish there had been some form of space heater, but that's about the only negative. Be prepared for frogs and if you have specific earplug needs -bring them! I'd happily stay here again if I find myself back in Hilo.

This was the best place ever! Walking distance to downtown restaurants, shops, and the ocean. The beds were super comfortable and the apartment was clean and updated with all sorts of cooking equipment. The host was communicative. Instructions were simple. Would definitely stay there again!

Grew up in Hilo so did a few days during my vacation on the Big Island. Definitely wanted to have a kitchen and be closer to downtown. Did not disappoint! Was able to walk to Moon and Turtle and the Hidden Nēnē, no problem!

A lovely stay in Hilo
The place was terrific and the location was central to everything we needed for a week's adventure. It is done in a lovely high-end style - more than I expected! The hidden gem was the bathroom with a huge, welcoming shower. The place got hot during the mid-day, but we were always out at the beaches or other sights and the fans and windows were plenty for us as the evening rolled around. The team was responsive when we had a few questions and super helpful. I can't imagine a stay going much better.

We had a great experience in Hilo thanks to our wonderful stay! Easy check in process, central location, great dining recommendations. The hosts provided water fun toys for the adults and kids (snorkeling, body boards, beach towels). Only wish our stay was longer!

High quality of everything, from communication to interior design and equipment. We were so happy and didn’t miss a thing. Were surprised that the place was actually better than the add, haha. The owners have put a lot of effort on every little detail. Highest recommendations.
