This two-bedroom / one-bathroom house is located in a cool, safe, and quiet neighborhood in the Hilo District. The property is centrally located from the main attraction sites. It's 30 miles to Hawaii Volcano National Park and to Mauna Kea Observation Center, 2.5 miles to the University of Hawaii, 1 mile to Imaloa Center, 5 miles to Hilo Downtown and to Rainbow Falls, and a short drive from all the main waterfalls and Park Beaches. It's also barely 2 miles from the entrance to Saddle Road and easy to find. It's offset from the main road, very private and quiet, in a safe neighborhood, owner lives on the property so she's available for questions, and to ensure your comfort.
Strong WiFi with new extender for added strength, max that Spectrum has to offer, upgrade from 220 to 996 gig.
Take note that there are 2 other rentals located on this property that shares the laundry area located in the cottage lanai. So although it is a private unit with your own designated easy parking area, you are not alone.

Hilo stay
Property is well supplied. Has a great kitchen with everything you need. Many spices and condiments are on site. A gecko will visit so don’t leave your food on the counter but he is very friendly and might let you catch him. Highly recommend the property very affordable for what you get and the host is amazing.

Perfect get away!
Diana was an amazing host! We enjoyed our stay very much and can't recommend it enough. The fresh fruit and avocados were an unexpected perk that we greatly appreciated. The place is just as described - the beds are incredibly comfortable. Absolutely no complaints. Diana also told us about some events that were happening around town that were a lot of fun. If we have the opportunity to return to the Big Island, we'll be hoping to stay here again.

Great location and amenities
This was our first trip to Hawaii and Diana helped make it a great one! The house is exactly as described - comfortable beds, large bathroom and conveniently located for all of our outings. We spent most of the time on the road and this was the perfect home base. Being from Florida, we were a little worried about no air conditioner, but we found the air cooled nicely at the end of the day and actually found ourselves grabbing an extra blanket from time to time. Would definitely recommend!

The host is the best! She is so kind, hospitable, and welcoming that we felt very at ease. The location is great for tracking into Volcano and Hilo, and it is very quiet. It would be good to know that it is among several rentals, so you are not a sole cottage. Also, the listing contradicted itself with different bathroom provisions. It would be good to know it is one bathroom, but there is a shared toilet if you’re in a pinch. Also, be prepared to pay to do laundry.

Great location | Amazing Host
This property was perfect for our stay in Hilo. I love the local neighborhood and the cottage was exactly as pictures and well equipped with everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable and we felt like we were at home. Diana is the most amazing host - excellent communication, extremely accommodating and generously shared the fruits of the property with us. When I'm back in Hilo, this will be my first choice of places to stay.

Lovely self-contained 2 bedroom annex. Had all the necessities. We arrived late at night, so it took a little bit of time to find the actual room (as it's not the main building), but once in, all was fine. Thank you Diana for a lovely stay.

Lovely home with lots of ceiling fans to help keep the temperatures comfortable. I like that it was set away from the street so there was minimal noise, other than the coqui frogs, at night.

A lovely stay with delightful hosts
My wife and I enjoyed a week based here as we explored the East side of the Big Island. Diana, the owner, was a wonderful host and her hospitality was amplified by Pastora, her delightful housekeeper. The location is suburban, 10-12 minutes’ drive from downtown Hilo, on a large property with a main guest house and a couple of self-contained units. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, were pampered by generous hospitality, in a clean, well-equipped self-contained unit. Since there are other guests staying on the property, you can expect activity around you, but for us it was never intrusive. We heartily recommend staying here and enjoying a chat with Diana and getting a story or two from Pastora!

A Fun Week
This was the perfect location for exploring the Hilo area. Spacious, quiet, extremely well equipped kitchen and helpful staff. We three older adults enjoyed our week here and would definitely come here again.

Home away from home.
Easy reservations through VRBO. The property is in a suburban area but right next to major roads. The place is comfortable and equipped with everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. The hostess, Diana, is exceptional and has many really good stories. The assistant manager was so friendly and accommodating. She helped us with all our special needs. When we go back to the Big Island, we will want to stay at Ohana Cottage.
