Bright and Serene Country Cottage in the Blue Ridge Mountains

Our country cottage has been 100% completely renovated and is a peaceful place for a destination or a great alternative to local commercial lodging.

Enjoy the sunrise over the mountains and back pasture and the sunset from one of the front porch swings The large front and side yards as well as the back pasture are great for getting outside and taking a stroll and enjoying some fresh country air.

Our cottage features 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, washer and dryer, covered porches, and a country view. The spacious and well stocked kitchen provides dine-in options or a break from fast food.

Our cottage is conveniently located for our guests to enjoy the Blue Ridge Parkway, New River Trail State Park, Historic downtowns of Hillsville, Galax, and Mt. Airy, Floyd Fest, the Fiddler’s Convention, and of course, the Hillsville Flea Market.

Great Place!
We have stayed here twice this year and I don’t know why anyone would stay in a hotel or anywhere else if this place is available. It is quiet, recently remodeled, and has everything you need for your family. The owners are wonderful and easy to work with. This place is now our go-to place when we head south for trips.

My family had a fantastic time at this mountain retreat. Close enough to needed provisions, but able to feel rural. Immaculate conditions and thoughtful amenities throughout. Will be booking a stay again here soon!

The house was fresh and clean and felt new. It matched the pictures and description to a tee. It was the perfect place for my family’s weekend getaway. The beds were all comfortable. Everyone commented on how great the bathroom was. We loved it all and will be back soon.

Fun Time in Hillsville VA
My parents and I had a great stay at Sunrise Retreat. The house is very beautiful and has everything you need for a getaway. Just bring your clothes, toiletries and some food if you want to cook and you will be good to go. Great views from the property too. We even had some surprise snow towards the end of our vacation. We enjoyed exploring Hillsville and the surrounding areas and everyone we met was very nice. We also enjoyed meeting and talking to the owners. We hope to be able to make it back to stay at this property soon.

Back to the Country and Days Gone By
Wonderful cottage home has been meticulously updated. Tasteful decor with quality appliances. Everything was simple, crisp and clean. Lovely farmland at the back and beautiful green rolling hills against a backdrop of trees and mountains. Very safe area with really nice locals. A refreshingly slower pace, yet everything you need is close by. Cannot think of anything more I could have wanted for my short get-away.

We did not get to spend much time at the house because there were many things we wanted to do in the surrounding area of the parkway and state parks. However when we would finally get home, our grandkids had a great time playing and once they were in bed we had a great time relaxing on the back porch listening to the cows. We were even able to put together a puzzle as a family. Very nice accommodations and we would love to stay there again.

College Roommate Reunion
This home was a gem for our roomie reunion! The owners thought of every detail to make our stay comfortable. We loved sitting on the front porch swings and also relaxing on the covered back porch overlooking the field. The kitchen was well equipped with all we needed, the beds were comfy, the bathrooms were nicely appointed and everything was very clean and inviting. While there, drove in to Draper for the afternoon. We brought a picnic lunch and ate it at the table under a large shade tree, enjoyed perusing the shops and walking on the trail. For dinner, we ate at Pizza Perfect- so yummy and friendly staff. All together a perfect spot for our weekend get together!

Our family of 4 had a nice stay at this country house with modern touches. The host was extremely responsive and I received check-in info days before which was a stress reliever. We saw groundhogs and so many deer. It was sweet slowing down and being in nature. The house had everything we needed: Keurig and coffee, hairdryer, linens, towels etc.
