Returning visitors. We love the location and all the comforts of home when we’re here. Minutes to town with restaurants and shops.
The host has thought of everything. Can’t wait to go back.
Great experience at this mountain house. Nice Mountain View out in the country but still within a quick drive of downtown Highlands. The property was very clean and well furnished also
Great location- minutes from town.
Cute house! Fully stocked with anything you would need.
Loved the deck and the fireplace. The fenced yard for the dogs was fantastic! We even saw a bear walk just beyond the fence. All in all a great trip. Will be here again.
Amazing scenery awaits you at this lovely home! We enjoyed the view as well as the location. Close to Highlands but in a quiet area. The house was very clean, bed was so cozy and comfortable, and the kitchen is well stocked for cooking at home. We used the outdoor fire pit a great deal and the outside lighting made for a wonderful nightly routine. The only downside was leaving it all behind. Looking forward to returning very soon.
Great location just a short drive from Downtown. House was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed. Home was EXACTLY as shown in the pictures. The host was a great communicator, and my friends were appreciative of my choice. Once we figured out the room with 2 twins, all was good. Would return here again if in the area.
Property is as described. Very convenient for travel around the area. Great for small pets. Cute decor. Minor issues with outside trash can and older appliances. We enjoyed our stay.
Christmas decorations greeted us as we opened the door. The cottage is lovely - lots of charm - quite comfortable - a chic mix of old and new furnishings! The view from the deck was wonderful, and the neighborhood was very quiet. Kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes and pans. Only two miles south of Highland - easy access to town - if needed. Welcoming place!!
This was a perfect place for a family weekend in the mountains. It is an older home, but has been nicely updated. The house has a huge fireplace and nice outdoor fire pit. The place was well stocked with games and puzzles. The front porch has a nice view. The property was also fairly private and well lit. The house is close to Highlands and several hiking trails. I really recommend hiking Whiteside Mountain nearby.

Highlands
The house and fenced in yard were good for us. The internet, cell phone service and TV streaming were non-existent. We had to go to Highlands to have internet service. This was a big hassle when we really thought we would have service.
Great little getaway after some very busy past weeks. So relaxing being there. The place is adorable. Very cozy and comfortable. We love the Highlands. The owner was prompt with a few minor issues. Very responsive and helpful. We would love to go back. Thanks!
My husband and I enjoyed our stay here. Easy to get into Highlands and to their local grocery store. We played the outdoor games available and had a great time. Just as the description says, WIFI is spotty at best, especially if the weather is bad. Bring your dvd’s and or download movies/shows on your device. The bed was very comfortable. Kitchen well stocked for home meals. We highly recommended staying here for quiet getaway.
We enjoyed our stay the cabin in full stocked with anything you could imagine. The dog fencing is so convenient for those who have fur babies. The unit was very clean. Rachel was very responsive and helpful. Only thing is the wi-fi in the morning it is much better we ended up watching a few DVD’s in the drawer in the evening. No computer work here. Great Stay
This property is just a few minutes outside of Highlands. The photos drew me to this home, and they were accurate. Each room in the home had very cute decor. There are neighbors on either side of the property. The ceiling in one of the bathrooms is very low compared to the rest of the house. The property has a mountain view, natural landscaping, and a fire pit. The outdoor lights were charming. This was a great rental for a long weekend in Highlands!
Overall nice and cozy. Loved the fenced in area for my beagle. Potential for some spectacular sunsets off the porch. Don’t expect much in the way of cell service and wifi doesn’t really help much. The whole town of Highlands not much better, but hey if your in some serious mountains what do you expect!Host did warn in advance. Host was quick to respond and friendly. Tap water kinda iffy, guess its on a well? Might want to bring drinking water. Overall pleased for the price and would stay again!

Home with potential
I expected from initial communication that phone , internet and WiFi was slow but to stay at a place where there were NO cell service I would not booked and tack on the horrible tv, it was not a good fit. Saying that ...the little home was cute with lots of potential if services were up to standard.
The property was a quaint homely mountain retreat and very clean and well stocked. Very peaceful and only a very short drive to Highlands and hikes in the area. We loved the back porch and the outside string lights were a lovely touch. Only downside was the internet so the TV was almost impossible to watch. A DVD player and some DVDs would resolve this. The internet throughout the whole of Highlands was very patchy so it was no fault of the owners and as long as you know this in advance it’s not a problem. It did make finding the property a bit of a challenge as our maps would not work lol. It was a good excuse to get away from it all and enjoy the scenery and downtime. We would highly recommend this property and we really enjoyed our stay.
Our journey to the Highlands and this stay exceeded all expectations. Despite our spontaneous decision to bring along our cherished companion Zephyr, the hosts graciously accommodated him, adding an extra layer of warmth to our stay.
Entering the beautifully adorned home, we were immediately struck by the rustic elegance that perfectly complemented the mountainous surroundings. Each room was thoughtfully decorated, evoking a sense of tranquility and comfort.
Nestled amidst the serene mountains, we found ourselves drifting into a deep, peaceful slumber each night. The mountain air combined with the cozy accommodations provided the perfect environment for relaxation, not only for us but also for our little one, who slept soundly throughout our stay.
From exploring scenic trails to simply enjoying quiet moments on the porch, every experience during our time in this mountain retreat was filled with wonder and joy. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the hosts for their warm hospitality and for allowing us to create treasured memories as a family.
Leaving this slice of paradise behind was no easy task, but we depart with hearts full of gratitude and a longing to return. Without hesitation, we wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem to anyone seeking an unforgettable mountain escape, with or without furry and little companions alike.
