Location: Nestled in-town Highlands, Highlands Cottage Retreat is just a one-minute walk from Mirror Lake. Here, you’re secluded enough for privacy yet conveniently close to Main Street’s dining and shopping, less than a mile away.
Property: Among a grove of quaint cottages, Highlands Cottage Retreat offers a small, lushly landscaped yard. The back deck features four rocking chairs ideal for bird watching or soaking in tranquility. The screened porch facing the lake is perfect for curling up with a good book and a cup of coffee.
Cottage: Enter Highlands Cottage Retreat to experience true rustic charm. The cottage greets you with original milled beadboard walls, ceilings, and patinaed hardwood floors.
Layout: Guests enter from a private side courtyard, ascending five stairs to the side door. This opens into the foyer/dining area with an expandable table for 4-6. The open floor plan flows into a living area featuring a stone hearth fireplace and a 75” flat screen TV. The cozy kitchen and both king bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms are to the right. One king suite includes stairs leading to a sizable loft with two twin beds and a separate TV area with a 50” TV. The dining area opens onto the screened porch, leading to the open-air deck overlooking Mirror Lake.
Area: Highlands stands as the premier mountain destination in the Southeast. Main Street, lined with shops, dining, museums, and galleries, evokes a Norman Rockwell painting. Once a seasonal hotspot, Highlands is now a year-round destination. At 4,118 feet, it’s one of North America’s few temperate rainforests, attracting botanists and nature enthusiasts globally.

Details: The property accommodates no more than two cars (one regular and one compact). The living room, both bedrooms, and the loft feature sizable flat-screen smart TVs and fiber optic cable, along with WiFi. The kitchen is well-stocked with utensils and more. This property is pet-friendly with prior approval and a nominal pet fee.
Note: This property does not have deeded lake access. The yard and dock behind the home are private property. Mirror Lake access is a brief one-minute walk away.
