Hidden Hollow- An adorable cottage within walking distance to town for shopping, dining, galleries, churches, tennis, public pool, nature trails and more. Here, you have end of the road privacy, but are not secluded- very convenient.

This home could easily pass as a three bedroom home- the open loft serves as the 3rd bedroom, and shares the upstairs bathroom. The great room offers an impressive floor to ceiling gas log fireplace, beautiful hardwood floors, Cable TV with DVD, open kitchen, and dining area. Covered porch is a nice escape and overlooks the beautiful lush forest and stream- you would never believe you are just one block to town. Gas grill located just off porch. The Mst BR has a King bed and private bath with jetted tub, the loft area has a trundle bed, the guest BR has a queen bed and private bath. There is a half bath off the great room, and the laundry area is just off the kitchen. This home has central heat and air conditioning, and even though it's small - it "lives large" with all the separate living spaces available.
No Smoking. Only small dogs will be considered This home has WiFi.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cannot recommend due to:1. Air quality.2. Humidity inside.3. Bugs inside.4. Trash outside.5. Poor drainage of driveway.6. Poor condition of dishes & kitchen equipment.7. Tiny TV, inadequate service.There is a heavy musty/moldy odor when you enter the house. It is very damp inside, and the dehumidifier never stops running. Within a few hours we had runny noses,coughs,and itching, burning eyes. Good location, and it could be very nice, but not well-maintained or appointed. The dishes had chips and chunks out of them, and the coffee cups got dangerously hot in the microwave. This was our second year in this property, and not one thing was improved, added or changed. For example, the kitchen sink sprayer was broken and wouldn't sit in its hole. The pots and pans were very old and in poor condition. When it rained, we had to wade through water up to our ankles to get in the door. There was contractor debris outside. The management company was great; we wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Wanted to love it but no.
Unfortunately, due to the mold and mildew issues with this house we will not be returning. The location is spot on and the house was once truly beautiful, but with the lack of maintenance there is a major mold and mildew issue. As soon as you step in the house you are aware of it. If the owners invested in good dehumidifier that drains outside along with a quality air purifier this may be manageable. We are very familiar with this area being a rain forest, but no one should feel like they are breathing in mold while they stay here, much less smell it. I hope this review helps anyone that is sensitive to these issues. Half our family left early with upper respiratory symptoms. I hope the owner thinks enough of their guests to fix these things.

The accommodations were great, the vicinity was the best, and the decorations were awesome! The place did smell as though it had been empty for quite some time. Very heavy, bad mold smell, had to run a manual dehumidifier 24/7 in attempt to dry out home. Very, very dark without all lights on in daytime, open hole in wall of master closet to wet crawl space (3X2 feet) in master bedroom, fire hazzard light fixture in master closet (burned fixture and ancient cloth wiring.. unable to be repaired by rental company). When it rained heavily, the street which drains toward house, flooded up to steps about 6 plus inches deep and you had to wait for it to recede before leaving or returning. I cleaned the place for 2 of the three weeks. The good news is I left the home much better than I found it.

House was pretty clean but smells musty, I assume because of the stream nearby. Need to replace the bath wash cloths as they are stained. Shower was great in the master. Bed in master is comfortable. Very small TV in the family room. Hard to see.s

THE CABIN IS EXCELLENTLY WELL LOCATED. YOU CAN NOT BELIEVE HOW CLOSE YOU ARE TO THE SHOPS AND RESTAURANTS. EVERYTHING IN THE CABIN WAS FINE ALTHOUGH I WOULD HAVE LIKED BETTER TV SCREEN AND BETTER INTERNET.

2021 Hidden Hollow Property Review

Reviewer Comments: Hidden Hollow is nestled in a great location just a few blocks from downtown Highlands. The location is outstanding. The interior design was well planned. All that said, the property needs better housekeeping and maintenance. The BBQ unit is filthy. Several areas of interior need better cleaning. Initially, the washer and dryer were not suitably maintained. To be fair, Chambers Realty somewhat improved the performance, The BBQ and washer and dryer need to be replaced. We could recommend property only if the specific above comments were fixed.

Great Highlands getaway
This spot is tucked away down a gravel drive. It was fantastic and suited our needs perfectly. Walkable to everything so convenient as well. Hope to return next year.

Horrid Hidden Hollow !!
Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The open layout and the location of the home are Nice . However, the tiny one lane washed out gravel road leading to it is almost impassable by SUV ! It would for sure tear up a car and / or break an ankle trying to walk it. But the worst part of the home, is the whole structure is so un level the doors won’t even shut properly . The house is leaning towards the creek so bad , The sliding door in the master bedroom had a 2 inch gapping hole that caused the house to be full of huge black flies . We killed itleast 50 during our 2 night stay . Also the closet in the master had a huge hole unfinished hole in the wall crammed full of messy junk . In addition, there is obvious live termite destruction right in the front of the house , next to the entrance . The house needs lots of serious immediate attention !
