My little blue slice of Heaven
The cabin feels remote without actually being remote. The setting is cozy and woodsy with a huge porch. There are so many activities to go and see that we decided to come back this summer. Karin is awesome and easy to work with!

Best Vacation Ever!
Beautiful, serene, peaceful...all you could ask for. The little Blue House was adorable! Loved the art work and decor inside and on the porch. Outside was just perfect. The little creek was beautiful. Our dog just loved it! We spent most of our vacation on the property, plenty of space to explore. We can't wait to come back!

Wonderful Getaway!
Thank you Karin for opening your beautiful home to us (me and my three pointy ear "kids") It felt like home the moment I (we) arrived. Just a comfortable and relaxing stay. The "kids" loved it. The stars at night were incredible! We look forward to coming back to visit.

Secluded cabin getaway, surrounded by nature!
Karin was very friendly and easy to work with! We loved every thing about this hideaway house nestled in the woods! We could have sat outside all day near the peaceful babbling brook, but the porch and home were equally inviting and so relaxing! We can't wait to book our next visit here!

Pleasantly surprised
We had a wonderful time staying at your Little Blue House. Our boys enjoyed exploring the woods and trails and we all loved the seclusion. One of the nicest, most well kept and provisioned VRBO rentals we have stayed at. We will definitely be back.

Just what we needed!
My 6 year old wanted to move here and stay! He loves the loft! It was an awesome adventure for us all and the creek was definitely the focal point! We hiked near the property one day. And I enjoyed a nap on the front porch when we got back! Overall, exactly what our family needed!

Gem of a cabin
We’ve visited this cabin before, so that tells you something. The location is wonderful, easily accessible from metro Atlanta. They cabin is situated on multiple creeks that run together. We sit outside all day and into the night listening to the breeze, looking at the trees and watching the birds. It’s so peaceful and quiet. Don’t forget to stop for firewood so that you can enjoy the fire pit. There’s also a great hammock.

Peaceful and Secluded
We enjoyed our stay very much at the Little Blue House. The seclusion of the location makes it very easy to relax by the stream and just listen to the sounds of the Forest. Our daughter enjoyed exploring and throwing stones in the stream of course. Great location with easy access to everything you might need, and close proximity to the Towns County Beach on Lake Chatuge, boat rentals and the tourist hamlet of Helen, GA. Communication with Karin was seamless and she was more than accommodating. We plan on returning for future visits!

Peaceful Cabin Convenient
Karin’s cabin was exactly as advertised. Communication was quick and accurate. Location was within minutes of all we wanted to do. Secluded but near all conveniences. Plenty roomy and kitchen was roomy. Newer appliances were nice & a good vacuum and cleaning supplies helped a lot! Not all hosts are as thoughtful—we appreciate that! Made it easy for us to clean as needed. We very much enjoyed the babbling brook & a welcomed rainstorm on the tin roof was magical! Great nights sleep!!! We will be back.

Great secluded location and unique property
We have family in Hiawassee and when the entire crew and dogs come up we need more space. So we liked this property and decided to book since it is very close to our family house. Anyway, this property is a very special family owned property that essentially includes the last acres before the national forest begins. So the mountains above are uninhabited and the water is pure without a doubt. The streams that flow through the property are pristine mountain runoff from the national forest. The actual house is an older hand built home that the family built many years ago. I mean hand built down to the wood doors and the medicine cabinet. It's unique and charming. I've stayed in dozens of places here and this is my favorite even though it's smaller than other ones I've stayed at. The wherever you are on the property including the front porch treats you with the relaxing sound of the running brook. The hostess is very accommodating as well and comms are super quick. We loved it and I think our dogs loved it more enjoying their ultimate playground.

Family getaway
The little blue house property was beautiful. Saw some deer. The creek is absolutely lovely. I just wish there was a little bridge or something to make it easier to cross over to the fire pit area. The house was nice and secluded, but close enough to the grocery store and parks. I traveled with my husband and four kids age range 2-9yrs old. The loft area in the little blue house is designed for kids and had some fun play things, but I would not recommend it for kids under 5yrs old because the ladder going up is quite steep and the railings have big gaps in between, so we were a little on edge every time the little ones wanted to climb up. There is plenty of parking, however it is quite the trek to get to the house from the car especially when unloading bags or groceries or kiddos. The property does have trails, but there was no direction or notes of where exactly to go. We started on one trail, but then it seemed to lead to a neighbors house up the mountain so we turned around. But as I said earlier, the house is close to other parks and trails. Helen is about a 20minute drive. Overall the stay was pleasant. I would recommend it for older kids and adults.

Christmas Trip
The little blue house is wonderful. You walk in and it feels like you are at home. It is very secluded. It is surrounded with woods. It is very quite. The front porch is really nice for drinking coffee and just listening to nature and the flowing creek. I love that it is pet friendly. My dogs loved the walks. It is convenient to alot of things to do. With the hustle and bustle of life everyday it was a nice break to just sit and relax with nature. I would love to come back again. My family and I can't rave enough about this place. The house itself is plenty big enough. The bedrooms are big and the beds are comfortable. It has a loft that my two grandkids loved. I would recommend if you want a nice, quite and secluded area to stay that you consider this little blue house. If you message the owner or call her she responds pretty quick. She has a book that is filled with history about the area my husband found quite interesting. My family and I just had a nice Christmas here. We really had time to spend family time together Thank you Patricia Jordan

I chose the Little Blue Cabin to accommodate my families need for sleeping arrangements & being pet friendly. We had 4 adults & one child. We all loved the property! We did however have to be very careful of the underground hornets nest along the pathway from the car to the cabin. We did purchase bug repellent as a precaution! I also recommend updating the pictures included on website. The picture of living room has a regular couch. The loft has a ladder. Its a unique space for children but my son was concerned about it not being safe for his daughter because of the railing. We actually moved one of the mattresses down so she could sleep by the fireplace & make it safely to the restroom in the middle of the night. Another recommendation would be to have a bigger restroom sink & downsize the cabinet. The adult men were bumping their heads trying to lean over sink. My husband has his own construction company ... thats why we notice the little things... We loved spending time on the porch & finding all the hidden treasures amongst your property❤ We were leary about playing by the creek, there is a huge hornets nest close by in a gree by the hammock! Thank you for sharing your property with us!

Tranquility
My wife and I, and our 2 Golden Retrievers had a wonderful stay; 10/28 - 11/04. I was pleasantly surprised to see this place available when looking on VRBO only a week before our vacation. It's difficult sometimes to find a rental that allows large dogs, not to mention 2 of them. Communication with Karin was easy through the app. She responded quickly and everything went smoothly and she answered some questions I had. We found the road to the house easily with Google Maps. It's paved at first and then a little rocky. No clearance issues. Pulled into the parking area, and seeing the house set far back in the woods with the little bridge going over the creek was perfect. We loved the porch! Pictures of the inside don't do it justice. Much nicer with a lot of character. Tastefully decorated and included some items for autumn. House was very clean and tidy. You can see the attention to detail. Went to nearby Ingles the next morning to pick up some groceries. It was so convenient with the town being right down the road. Hiawassee is a nice little town with a handful of decent restaurants. We really enjoyed breakfast at Mary's Southern Grill. Michaelee's Italian Life in Blairsville and ShoeBooties Cafe in Murphy NC for the best dinners; both less than a half hour away. Drove around leaf peeping visiting towns along the way. Hiked some trails to waterfalls. The dogs loved the swimming holes at Helton Creek Falls and Hemlock Falls. All in all a great vacation at an amazing house!

Lovely and relaxing - with a few suggestions
Overall we loved it, especially hanging out on the porch. We were able to bring our dogs which was the biggest reason we chose to come here in the first place and that is a huge plus for us. It was so nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Atlanta and our hectic lives. It's very secluded and private. I agree with all other reviewers that the babbling brook is the what makes this place truly special and will lull you to sleep if you are out on the porch. Also, Karin was very nice and flexible with us. The only reason for 4 stars is that the mattresses could use replacing. It was just the two of us as we did not bring our kids so I cannot speak to the loft beds. We tried sleeping in one bed the first night and it killed our backs. Then we switched to the other and it was just as bad. For reference we are avarage size and don't have any health issues. As a result, we didn't get the kind of sleep we would have liked for a getaway and were glad we had only booked two nights. The couches inside are also also uncomfortable. I realize because the owner allows dogs, she doesn't want to put extremely nice things in the home and I can completely understand this as I would be the same. That said, overall the home was very clean and nice. However, at least changing the mattresses would be suggested. We would love to come back, but knowing this about the beds we will likely not return, which is shame because we really did love everything else about it.

Loved the woods and hiking!
The property that Karin's Little Blue House is on is spectacular - it is surrounded by woods and mountains and it is so peaceful. It rained every day the week that we were there but we still enjoyed the property. We hiked around in between the storms - our dogs absolutely loved it. The sound of the creek is so peaceful and even the rain on the metal roof was nice. The real wood walls + ceilings and oak wood floors are true to the cabin in the woods experience! The bathroom has a great little wall heater to warm the room while in the bathtub - with strong water pressure +plenty of hot water. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. We climbed the ladder to the loft just to peek - it is an almost vertical ladder - adventurous kids (maybe 7+ yrs old) would love it. We passed the road to the house at first - it would be helpful to include "turn at the Amana air conditioning sign" in the driving instructions. The road does not have a street sign and angles down and to the right so much that it doesn't look like a road - but then it opens up and it is such a nice drive away from civilization and up into the mountain. We were glad to have a truck with us - the hard rains moved the gravel on the driveway a bit - but we were there during a rare week-long rain storm - at other times it is probably not too bad. We met Karin the 2nd day - her house is further up on the mountain - she is very nice and checked on us due to the storms. The Hiawassee, Young Harris, Blairsville area has a lot to offer - on the one day the rain let up a bit we drove to Brasstown Bald and hiked to the top and then went about halfway on the Jack's Knob trail. Both trails were a bit steep (especially coming back on Jack's Knob) - but the views are really great. We enjoyed lunch in Blairsville at Michaelee's Italian Life Cafe - it is on the Town Square and they have a patio behind the restaurant with heaters and were very welcoming to our two pups (try the yummy desserts in their coffee shop). We noticed Cabin Coffee on the square had outdoor seating too. Rib Country in Hiawassee has covered picnic tables and friendly staff + yummy BBQ. Due to the rain we ate most of our meals at the cabin and found the kitchen easy to use - plenty of counter space. It was unseasonably warm (60's & 70's!) so we did not get to try out the fireplace. The Ingles grocery store in Hiawassee had every thing we needed - and even has a little Starbucks counter in it. We will be back!
