House was beautifully appointed and clean. We enjoyed lake access and use of the kayak, as well as the fire pit and grill. Would definitely stay here again!
The home itself was perfect for our family. Great layout and comfortable kitchen, living area, and bedrooms. We spent time on the dock and swimming in the lake and everything was easy and views were spectacular.
We just spent a couple nights in Hiawassee and loved this property. It was clean and the updates are great. It’s a good location with water access. It is convenient to everything in Hiawassee.
The property is beautifully restored and very clean. It has a dock and easy access to the lake. The owners were lovely. The only downside is the road noise from passing trucks.
With three kids and 2 dogs it’s hard to find a place with plenty of room to hang out, a nice stocked kitchen, and nearby activities and this is the spot! Loved the fire pit for s’mores, the lake for fishing, and all the nearby parks and waterfalls. Highly recommend
We had a very relaxing and comfortable 3 night stay at this cute little house. Refurbished and delightfully decorated. Fully adjustable and easy climate control and even heated bathroom floor.
Quite fun!
House was exactly as described….it is right on a busy road but that was in the description…..other than that it’s right on the lake and was well stocked and comfortable…..very convenient to lots or hiking and walking trails which was what we were looking for!
We had a relaxing 2 night stay at The Hersie House. We slept like babies in its comfy bed during the terrible storm that passed through. Its decor & charm is so welcoming and the history takes you back!! Shannon the Host made sure we had everything we needed and gave quick response to any questions. We loved the open space in the back even though it’s located on the main road. It’s close to food & DG if you need something quick. Go a head and just book it!!
We had an amazing stay! The house was so perfect and we loved all the decor. The house is very well stocked. We absolutely loved the lake, its was beautiful! We also enjoyed the firepit on the last night. The owners were super responsive and clear in communication. I highly recommend this property. :)
The house was very nice and was close to everything we wanted to do. We brought our boat and tied it up at their boat dock so we could jump on it and go. There are a couple of wineries that are close to the house that we went to.
We enjoyed our stay. I traveled with my husband and three boys (7, 5, and 1). Plenty of room for all of us. We loved the decor and kitchen amenities. We were able to cook with my problems. The listing is accurate that it is close to the highway. The front bedroom is a bit noisy, but the convenient location made up for it. I would prefer a second toilet and sink, but know that might be a tall order. The only real complaint I have would be that there is no door between the master and kids room, just a curtain. We would stay here again!
My husband and I brought our boat with us to enjoy the lake. The boat launch was close by. The boat dock at the house was easy to get in and out of. It was nice to be able to leave the boat docked at the house until we were ready to check out. Great restaurants close by.
We had a most wonderful week in Hiawassee and at this darling property! The farmhouse is adorably redone but maintains the charm of the original house! The decorations are perfect and the house has everything you need to enjoy your stay! Lake access was easy and we spent a lot of time on the dock reading, drinking coffee and enjoying the lake life! Hiawassee, GA and Haysville, NC were also great towns with fun local spots to enjoy! We rented a boat for the day and stopped at The Marina grill for lunch and visited the local VFW for some bar bingo! There are plenty of yummy places to eat and we just had a most wonderful time overall! Will surely return and stay again at this perfect lake property!
We loved our stay. Over 100 year old house, but updated with nice comfortable features yet still the old farm house look and feel. The house was very clean, always funny about staying where other folks live and or vacation. A/c worked great, heated bathroom floor was just awesome. Very comfortable beds, newer appliances. Great location, close to town and on the lake. Did not want to leave after a a four night stay. Would love to come back again soon. This house would be nice year round.
My friends and I had a wonderful time at Shannon's spot. We went for the weekend and enjoyed how cozy and clean the house is. We went to a festival at the fairgrounds and it was a quick drive from the house. Super easy check in. Would recommend!
I wanted to have a nice weekend getaway to Hiawassee, just needing to get away from it all, and the Hersie house is just what I needed! The place was perfect for me. Quaint and simple. but not lacking for anything. It was close to town, and to the amazing views of Bell Mountain. Shannon, the host, was available to answer my questions before and during my stay. I’ll definitely be back.
