With a castle and small independent cinema, Hay has an excellent selection of quirky shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants along with a weekly farmers market on a Thursdays showcasing the seasonal local produce and crafts. In warmer weather you can enjoy paddling or wild swimming on the banks of the river. Walkers are well served with access onto the Offa’s Dyke footpath, and Wye Valley Walk. For a quieter, easier stroll with spectacular views, The Begwns National Trust commons above Clyro is an excellent choice.
