Summary:
This stylish cottage is tucked away on a quiet street in Porthleven, but a stones throw from the hustle and bustle of the harbour.
The Space:
Through the front door, you step into a spacious living room that's bursting with warmth and character. Whitewashed walls and cream sofas are tastefully complimented with natural fabrics such as jute cushions and wool throws - giving a cosy and calm feel throughout. Next door, a brand new modern kitchen is equipped with everything you need and more: from an electric hob and oven to a Nespresso coffee machine and fridge with water dispenser. When you're not out at one of the amazing local restaurants, you can enjoy sociable meals around the large dining table.
Upstairs, you will find three well-sized bedrooms which have been finished to a boutique standard. The master has a striking four poster king-sized bed with sumptuous bedding and high-quality furnishings - you'll certainly sleep soundly here! There is ample storage for clothing in the built-in wardrobes, as well as a private en-suite bathroom with a shower unit. The further double bedroom is equally as inviting, whist the third bedroom can be made up as with either a single or a king bed. The additional family bathroom has been maintained to a high standard and features a bath and shower unit. Downstairs you will find a comfortable double sofa bed, should you require more diverse sleeping options. The cottage's enviable location and inviting interiors make this a real home away from home and the perfect spot for a relaxing coastal getaway. There is a private parking for up to two vehicles.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the whole property.
The Neighborhood:
Porthleven is one of Cornwall's prettiest fishing villages, with brilliant foodie ties and restaurants, been named amongst tourists and locals ‘the new Padstow’. You'll find the likes of Michael Caines lining the harbour as well as Masterchef winner's Kota restaurant, The Square at Porthleven, Amelie’s and Seadrift. You could spend a week or more sampling all of the amazing food in the area! Every summer there is an annual community-run food festival with stalls, music and entertainment bringing the town to life!
It's not just restaurants that are in plenty here, you'll find a handful of welcoming pubs within walking distance of the cottage. Head to The Ship for beautiful views and live music or The Harbour Inn for a pint or two on a sunny day. As if that wasn't enough, you can enjoy long rambles along the coastal path from Looe Bar for stunning views of the gnarly Cornish cliffs and stop at Origin Coffee to refuel before browsing the independent galleries, jewellers and art shops that line the harbour. We highly recommend making bookings in advance to avoid disappointment!
From Porthleven you can take the A394 towards Penzance, stopping off at the beaches along the way. Praa Sands is a wide sandy beach perfect for families, but try the more secluded bay of Prussia Cove a little further along down a single track road if you want something quieter. There are also lovely walks along this part of the coast if you have time, such as the route from Perranuthnoe to Cudden Point; around two miles of scenic trail along the clifftops. A busy day is always best finished with food, and locals love heading to New Yard Restaurant for innovative dining in a rustic alfresco setting. Only a 25 minute drive and you are in the popular towns of Carbis Bay and St Ives.
Getting Around:
Due to the remote nature of Cornwall we would highly recommend bringing a car to make the most of your time here. That said, the cottage is ideally located within a short walk of Porthleven's harbour, shops and restaurants. There is a private parking behind the cottage with space for two vehicles.
