Three modern, recently newly built holiday cottages in a traditional Icelandic style, with a panoramic sea view
These modern luxury cottages are nestled into the lush dunes landscape before the picturesque locality Hellnar, along the western tip of Iceland’s Snaefellnes peninsula. They provide ideal accommodation for sea and nature lovers and all those who would like to enjoy a relaxing holiday amidst pristine nature and far away from tourist noise.
Despite the secluded location, you are not all alone here and you can interact with the residents at other holiday cottages next door. There is a distance of about 100 metres between the cottages. You will need a car to get around and there are parking spaces right on site.
The holiday cottages are about 1km from the sea and a special little restaurant with Icelandic specialities and a terrace where you can enjoy a beer with a view of the sea. It is about 2km to the nearest long sandy beach and 1km to the nearest restaurant. The nearest grocery shops are 30km away. The cottage is near the national park, just five minutes away by car. You can hike here, observe whales and birds, sail around the many islands and also ski in winter. The town of Reykjavik about two hours away makes an interesting day trip.
The two-story holiday cottage was recently rebuilt in 2015 and is equipped with modern amenities for a comfortable stay, including underfloor heating in all rooms (including the bathroom) and an alarm system for your security. The 85 m² living space offers two light-filled living areas, a dining area with an integrated, open-plan kitchen, a bedroom, and a state-of-the-art bathroom. Downstairs, the larger living area is furnished with a comfortable sofa and two armchairs, as well as a stereo system. A wide dining table with six chairs is also available here. In addition, the stylish, wood-colored fitted kitchen, as expected, features only the latest appliances: a ceramic hob, oven, refrigerator with freezer compartment, microwave, kettle, toaster, and coffee maker. A staircase leads up to the upper floor. Here, the smaller living area on the mezzanine level is furnished with another sofa, a flat-screen TV with a USB port, a DVD player, and even a PlayStation. The bedroom has a 180 cm x 200 cm double bed. The sofa in the lower area can also be converted into an additional double bed for two more people. The brightly tiled bathroom features a walk-in shower cubicle, a vanity with a wall mirror, a toilet, and a washing machine with a dryer function. A baby cot and a highchair are also available, sufficient bed linen and towels are provided, and reliable wireless G3 internet access is also offered free of charge in your holiday cottage.
Please note that you will need to clean the cottage yourself. The beds will be freshly made upon arrival, and upon departure, bed linen and towels must be washed in the washing machine and the beds made fresh.
The large glass doors in the living area open directly onto the spacious sun deck. Here, you can relax at the wooden table and bench and enjoy the far-reaching panoramic view over the rolling dune landscape all the way to the sea.
