It took more than an hour, when I first arrived, for the un-professional hotel staff to realize that I had a reservation. The next day I was not able to get into my room and again it took the staff much too long to realize that the batteries were dead on the door equipment. The technician, however, was extremely helpful and apologetic regarding the situation. Hefei is a big city with hotels that are located in excellent areas, but this Green Tree was not one of them. Very few restaurants in an otherwise industrial area, no cafes at all to be seen, although there is one very good bakery in walking distance. In addition, there are no banks at all in the area. Even though signs said No Smoking, most everyone smokes. I regret I did not choose a better hotel especially in such a nice growing city as Hefei. The room was appropriate and comfortable, but otherwise, this was a bad choice.
