Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
Our 2 night stay was a huge disappointment. We've stayed at 2 other fish camps and this was the worst. The screen door to the patio was broken. Someone had failed in an attempt to rig it in order to shut. The little proch itself needed a good sweeping. The room was cute, but the bed is impossibly high for an old, short, overweight woman. We removed the 3 inch foam padding so I was able to crawl onto the bed. (with an injured knee. I fell on the property) While there was a coffee maker, microwave and small refrigerator there was no place to sit and put a cup or glass or plate down. Unless you pulled a chair over to the TV table. The other option was to stand at the dresser or hold your cup and balance a plate on your lap. The ice bucket had water and black marks in it. I cleaned it, but wouldn't use it. Ours was a cabin with an adjoining room. That would not have been a problem, but the person who checked in had a dog who was alone and whined for hours.
The same rate was charged for that cabin as for cabins larger and better equipped. I suggest the rate be lowered for it.
I am truly disappointed. We chose The Yearling for the location. That was the good thing about it. We plan on returning to the area, but unless we are offered a free cabin we'll find another place to stay.
Oh...the restaurant is quaint and the food is quite good. The only plus.
