Itsukushima Iroha
5/5 Excellent
A wonderful stay
"I was genuinely impressed with my stay. Check-in was seamless and warmly welcoming — the staff member who greeted me (I wish I’d caught her name) was attentive, engaging, and full of interesting conversation. She shared her own travel stories from Oxford and London, and even remembered I had an early departure, thoughtfully arranging a breakfast to take with me — a lovely touch.
The room itself was outstanding — easily the best night’s sleep I had during my time in Japan. The location is ideal: peaceful and tucked away from the crowds, offering a real sense of escape.
Dinner was pleasant, though not the highlight — the food was fine and service was great, but it’s not somewhere you’d come for a culinary standout. That said, during the day you can enjoy the street food stands nearby and opt for a lighter meal in the evening.
