"The bedroom was good and spaceous but that was it. The breakfast was extremely disappointing with very limited options, especially on the first morning when only a few other rooms were staying in the hotel, and they did not restock the food or drinks - basically First come, First Serve. We were not advised where to enter the hotel after the reception is closed, and after coming back from Europapark, we found ourselves locked outside with no one to assist us. Only german spoken in the hotel."

"The apartment itself is very nice but the owner was very rude from first moment we walked in, this was very upsetting and kids didnt feel comfortable and neither did we. There is only a door that separated our apartment and his... the bed had bed bugs as we got spots on our legs and there was a spare bed plonked in the entrance to living room which we all knocked into all the time. He said keep it clean and leave as you see it so we snapshot everything. Furthermore he said it smells nice so dont...

"Very clean and professionally run. A place where you can tell the owners take a lot of pride in providing a nice place to stay. The breakfast was the best you can get in town, fresh fruit and lot of delicious bread and cheese. Only recommendation for improvement is to have fans in the room, it was very hot day and we were on the third floor which got pretty toasty. "

"Sehr sauber und sehr freundliche Vermieter, die im Haus wohnen. Unkompliziertes Ein- und Auschecken. 5 Minuten zu Fuß zum Europapark und in fußläufiger Entfernung gute Restaurants. Wir waren länger da und hatten häufigen Handtuchwechsel und auch Bettwäschewechsel. Das einzige, was nicht so gut ist: Bei vier Personen wird es sehr warm im Zimmer. Kann ich sehr empfehlen."

"This is a perfect holiday location....the apartment has everything you need & was spotlessly clean. Gengenbach is probably the prettiest town we saw in the Black Forest & a fantastic base to explore the region. We stayed 11 nights & used the train on the Konus card scheme every day bar 1.....great for taking the stress away & having a German beer or 2! Anja was fantastic in welcoming us & giving lots of tips on where to eat etc....she was always at the end of the phone if we had a question....
