My wife and I with extended family were so very fortunate to have found and rented VRBO #3779728 on Cape Cod for the week of July 4th. The property was just about perfect for eleven of us (3 adult couples, 3 pre-teen siblings, and two toddler siblings). The toddlers bunked in with their parents in the top floor master bedroom. There were two bedrooms on the main floor for the family of five and we the grandparents had our own private suite in the finished walkout basement. Lots of bathrooms for everyone, fully air-conditioned except for the English basement with windows which stayed cool anyway, great relaxation, play and eating areas inside and outside. The large deck with grill, extra long picnic table and patio furniture overlooked a sizable yard that is screened naturally for privacy by a remarkable planting of large and thick evergreens. The basement game room with ping pong and foosball provided hours of enjoyment for the kids. Our crowd was too active to make much use of the multiple flat screen TVs, but they were nice to have available. There were living room/dens on two levels (main floor with the kitchen and upper floor loft). A real plus was nearby access to the extremely pleasant and private fresh water beach on Buck’s Pond. The house was very well-equipped for vacationers: linens, towels, kitchenware and basic supplies, grill with tools, games, beach chairs, outside shower with hot water, cleaning supplies, etc. The neighborhood is quiet and conducive to activities such as walking around one or both nearby lakes. Finally, for lovers of Cape Cod, the location is convenient to beaches of all types, ocean, bay and Nantucket Sound, and also to the wonderful surrounding towns. It was a pleasure doing business with the Sara, the owner, who seemed genuinely interested in the quality of our experience. She does require the tenants to leave the home in the fine condition in which it is found, which does demand some planning for those needing to make Saturday flights from Boston or Providence. We did ask her to address one challenge: that of slightly substandard clothes dryer performance. All in all, we would love to rent this property again in the future.
