Perfect location, owner strives to make your stay perfect!
We stayed at this river front home with our three children for a long weekend and had a great time. The location is wonderful and the home was very clean. The owner was great with communications, checked in to make sure everything was okay, gave us hints and tips for the area, and was super speedy in helping us when we mistakenly locked ourselves out. We didn't cook, choosing to eat at the wonderful eateries in the area, but the home looked well stocked with everything you would need. We look forward to returning.

Great, quiet location!
A friend and I stayed in this adorable, three story row home over a long weekend with our teenage daughters. It was close to downtown Harrisburg, where we attending a dance competition at The Forum. The home was clean and comfortable and has a great back patio to relax and have a glass of wine or cup of coffee. The owner made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us often (via text). It is right along the scenic river that has walking/running paths and close to Hershey Park (only 25 minutes away). I would definitely stay here again!!

A great place to stay!
My family and I spent a week in Harrisburg for a family wedding. Upon our arrival, we were very pleased with this wonderful townhouse. It was very clean and neat. The beds were super comfortable and the linens/towels plentiful. The kitchen was well-stocked. The owner was very attentive, reaching out to ensure everything met our needs. The townhouse is located along the Susquehanna River and we took advantage of the riverfront where many people enjoy the walking/running path. An added bonus was the beautiful sunsets! I would definitely recommend this property!

very comfortable and "homey"!
To start, we booked our trip the night before we planned to stay and the owner responded and approved the request within an hour or two! He was very helpful and you can tell he Genuinely cares about the place! Everything was very clean and neat when we arrived. There was plenty of towels, linen, and sleeping space for our big family, not to mention the place is right on the water. There was also plenty of cookware and utensils for use. I can't speak much on the area around because we were using it as a place to stay between to traveling to DC and New York but it all looked very nice. I would for sure recommend these place to anyone!

Water Front
The house was very nice, there was plenty of room for everyone. We had a issue with the back lock which was taken care of right away. It was 100 degrees out the air worked very well in keeping us cool. The house is close to down town with very nice view of the river, It is also connected to other houses which was hard keeping the kids quiet something we are not use to, but the neighbors were great my husband helped get a baby skunk off the porch next door. Would definitely rent again if we were in the area.

Convenient & Accomodating
This house was a perfect location for our two families from Raleigh NC and Boston MA to meet in the middle and take our kids to Hershey PA! The house had plenty of space for our four kids to enjoy and play. It's very convenient to walk to downtown and walk to the City island with parks and mini putt. We loved the trails that are located just across the street from the house along the river!! It's also very convenient to the highway to get places and a short drive to Hershey Park! The parking is a little tight at the house, but definitely not a big issue. We didn't get much opportunity to enjoy the back patio and grill due to the weather (hot and rainy) but it's nice space to have. I would certainly recommend this place and appreciate the owners sharing! -Brian

Perfect for business or pleasure.
We used the property for our stay while we worked the Great American Outdoor Show. It was perfect. The location was good and being able to have a place to have a quiet dinner where we could actually hear our clients was phenomenal. The kitchen was well stocked (with top shelf appliances, pots, pans, and other supplies) and it was a pleasure to be able to cook some comfort food after eating out for the previous month. There was even a gas grill in the back courtyard for grilling steaks and fish. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. The thick carpet was clean and felt good on bare feet. There were even plenty of hangers in the closets not just two or three like a lot of places. The washer and dryer worked and being able to do laundry at our leisure was very nice. The downstairs was well furnished and plenty comfortable. It was one long open space going from kitchen, to dining room, to living room. The garage was also welcomed as it kept our vehicle out of the snow and rain. The owners continually checked in on us wanting to make sure we had everything we need and that everything was ok. They were gracious and very accommodating. We would all feel perfectly comfortable recommending this rental to anyone visiting the Harrisburg area.

Neat Townhouse on the river
We stayed a week at this neat townhouse in Harrisburg during the Pennsylvania National Horse Show where our daughter was competing in the Pessoa/USEF Hunter Seat Medal Finals. It was super convenient to the show grounds just a few minutes away. We slept great on the comfy mattress and pillows. Plenty of new towels and the house was clean and well stocked. We used the herbs and grill on the patio along with the "party" lights one evening to entertain our trainer and several friends. They all enjoyed an evening away from the barn and hotels. The house faces the river and trees so the view is great and we walked over the foot bridge to City Island one evening. Lots of people walking and running along the sidewalk. Felt safe even though we were in a down town area. We traveled to Hershey about 30 minutes away and also the Amish area about an hour away. There is some traffic noise from I-83 that is noticeable at night. It was a steady rumble and was actually soothing, kind of like a train. I also used a white noise machine but it is mostly to block out my husbands snoring. A great house to stay in downtown Harrisburg! Will be back for another show and will stay here again. Host was great getting back with us and answering questions.

Conveniently located, lots of space
We really enjoyed our two night stay at this property. Pros: Lots and lots of space. Privacy for my kids, me, and my mom was great. Kitchen was modern and clean. I would have a hard time making a full meal there due to lack of some tools, but for a few days it was excellent. Location was superb. A short drive or 15-20 minute walk from downtown Harrisburg. Lots of places to eat and much to do in the area. The townhouse was clean and tidy. The owner was responsive and helpful. Cons: It's location *right* under the highway made it hard for us to enjoy the patio or the river. It was really loud all the time outside. (Inside was quiet as long as the windows were closed.) The third for doesn't have central AC - just a window unit. This would be fine if the third floor bedroom closed. However, because of the plush carpeting (which is beautiful and new!), that door won't close, so it was a bit warm in the upstairs bedroom. This would be a non issue in any other season. The parking is a bit tight. The garage is out back, small and a bit difficult to navigate with a larger car. Just something to know - not a deal breaker. The security deposit is a hefty one, and as of today it has still not been credited back to me, although I have been told it was requested. I feel pretty strongly that security deposit refunds should be credited within a week of check out. We checked out in the 25th, so it's been 11 days. This may be well within reason for some, but to me it's a long time, so I've included it here as a con.

House on the river
We were in town for a wedding, so we added an extra day to explore Harrisburg. The house I chose is river front and at the end of a quiet street. The location could not have been any better, 2 miles from downtown, with a wonderful river view. We spent the day walking along the river and enjoying the nearby park, historical monuments and the local restaurants. The house is older but quaint. The first level has been updated and is very nice. The 2nd and 3rd levels could use some TLC. The beds are comfortable but there are no nightstands, extra blankets, or pillows and the towels don’t match and are also old and worn. A night light here and there would also be nice. The carpet is old and worn. The windows are dirty and there is an old screen laying on the roof. The kitchen is sparsely accommodated. There are no wine glasses and only 3 coffee mugs. I couldn’t find a bottle opener either. Finally, there is a major temperature difference between the 1st floor and the 2nd and 3rd. Very chilly downstairs and hot and stuffy upstairs. The house was not very clean. We were greeting with 4 bags of trash in the garage and there were wet towels and sheets in the dryer. There were also several dead flys on the carpet in our bedroom and empty plastic bottles in the backyard. Now I want to point out that all these things can be fixed. They were a minimal inconvenience and we enjoyed our stay very much! I would recommend this house as long as you can work around the imperfections

Property Needs A Lot Of TLC
Four of stayed 6 days in this house. Know up front this is an old house with very steep stairs. Those with bad joints beware because all bedrooms and bathrooms are upstairs. PROS 1. There is a nice view of the river and a walking trail. There are also a lot of random folks wandering around the neighborhood. 2. Overall the property was clean when we arrived and fairly well stocked. The kitchen and dining area were nice for making breakfast and then eating. There were no eating options anywhere close. We were unable to watch movies on the TV-maybe it was us or the system is not set up right. 3. Beds were fairly comfortable. Bathrooms are small with only showers. We used this house primarily as a base to travel in the area each day and then clean up and sleep at night. One-way streets in the area were tricky to navigate. CONS 1. Check-in was a mess. The door code provided was wrong and we had to call for help. The code that finally opened the front door did not work on the back door. It took 4 days to get a back door code that worked. Not good. 2. Several doors will not shut, we had bees in the bedrooms for 2 days, no smoke detectors in the bedrooms (unsafe), and 2 bedrooms had no chairs (inconvenient). Bath light switch inoperable and other bath outlet was covered up and unusable. 4. Garage is very small-we squeezed in a midsize SUV but were barely able to open a door on one side of the car. 5. Carpet needs deep cleaning. Overall 5/10. An old house that needs attention.

Not a great experience
Unfortunately we did not have a 5 star experience by any means at this property. I don’t want anyone else to experience what we did, so I wanted to leave an honest review. This house was a good location for our Hershey trip, it is bowever located right next to a homeless tent community and they would hang out in the road and riverfront. The house was very dirty. Walls had gunk, scrapes, cabinets had old food spilled in them, coffee was molding in the pot, thick dust had collected on surfaces. Rugs were stained, bedding had blood stains, even the curtains had brown stains on them. The ceilings had mold/mildew and were cracking. Overall, not well kept. Parking was bad. You need a permit for the street and the garage was blocked where we couldn’t access it. When we checked in it was “keyless” and the code was supposed to be switched so no only else knew it, yet on arrival, it didn’t work. There was also a pest issue. Mouse droppings and traps thrown about and bees inside the house. The exterminator also came knocking on the door because he was told no one was there. There’s only enough sitting room in the living room for 3, dishes and pots provided were dirty with food caked on as well as mouse droppings in the cupboards. The master bed is impossible to sleep on as it is massively slanted. This has never happened in our renting experiences. This place isn’t well taken care of. We received a small refund for our big issues only after vrbo suggested it.

Property was just okay
Based on the other reviews and pictures, my expectations were very high for this place. In reality, it's a very old house that smells like mold/mildew. It's three floors - first floor is kitchen and living room, second floor is one bathroom and two bedrooms, and third floor is one bathroom and one bedroom. The top floors get VERY warm. There is no fan in the master... between the hot air (and mind you, this was May - I'd hate to feel it over the summer!), and a too soft mattress with very cheap-feeling sheets, we slept terribly. I also didn't love having to put one of my kids up on the top floor by themselves. The house was fine, just not great and not somewhere I was excited to come back to at the end of each day. We ended up leaving a day early since no one was sleeping great.

Nicely located for sight seeing with great access to freeways. Old and needs some updating but overall a nice place and a pleasant stay. Better furniture on patio would be a significant plus. Steep stairs to all bathrooms and bedrooms could be an issue to be aware of for some.

Great accommodations for family trip
We really enjoyed our stay here and the hosts were great! We had 6 adults and a two year old that were very comfortable in the house. It was nice having a large kitchen with all the amenities to cook so we did not have to eat out every meal. The location had a beautiful view of the river and we felt safe walking on the trail. Would definitely book again if in that area!

Great space - needs a few tweaks
The location is fantastic - we used it as our home base for a Hershey trip. Less than 20 minutes from the park and access to anything you might need within minutes. Beautiful view with the river directly out your front door (and a great walking path right there as well). Pay close attention to the parking instructions. The garage on site *might* fit a smaller car. Anything else needs to go on street parking (this was no problem whatsoever - just pointing it out). As to the space itself. The first floor is good. Its the upper floors that are a bit rough. There needs to be some repair and cleanup. Overall we had no problems but the four stars are for the state of the space in entirety. We would return if we were taking another Hershey trip.

Hershey-Harrisburg Vacation
We stayed at this rental to mostly go to Hershey park attractions, but also to have a couple of nice dinners in Harrisburg and check out the music scene. The location is great, right on the river with a bike path along it, and it was really easy to get to the highway and whatever else we needed to access. The house is a modernized older city dwelling, which was exactly what we wanted, and was clean and we'll stocked. There was also a garage for our car, which was a major plus, and my seven year old got to see some bunnies and otters on/near the property, another bonus! The only critique I might have is the hot water ran out rather quickly; I'm not certain the tank is set up for a vacationing family of five. But I also didn't complain about it, because it was only an issue once or twice. I definitely received the property.
