Just visited Taransay Cottage for the 3rd time and we've enjoyed it as much as the first time we went. It's a beautiful cottage, great location, near to beautiful beaches. We can't fault it and look forward to returning soon.

Fantastic location
Spacious, comfortable cottage with lovely views and only 5 min walk to a stunning, quiet little beach.
A fantastic holiday property in a stunning location. The layout and design provided beautiful views from all rooms. The location is convenient for visiting local beaches, fishing and eateries! I would definitely recommend this property!
Lovely, comfortable, spotlessly clean accommodation, equipped with everything you could possibly need.
We were made very welcome from the moment we arrived.
Brilliant location for touring Harris and within walking distance of five gorgeous beaches.
Our only regret was that we had to leave.
Accommodation superb - island stunning - highland hospitality from local contacts Chrissie and Lachie outstanding and faultless
- can not recommend highly enough - do need a car - no reliable public transport in Northton area but part of charm

Wonderful, comfortable, stunning - didn't want to leave!
A truly lovely location and exceedingly comfortable, welcoming and warm cottage with every need catered for. Very stylishly and thoughtfully decorated making the most of the stunning views. A fabulous place to unwind and recharge. Feel very privileged to have stayed and very sad to leave - we're already planning a return trip! Thank you.
Gorgeous, spacious house, with beautiful views, in a great location!
This was the first time that the place we'd booked turned out to be even more beautiful and spacious than it appeared in the photos! A 10 minute walk from a gorgeous beach, mobile grocery delivery, a lovely coffee shop down the road, a sustainable local stall in the other direction, just steps from the cottage, with a view of a beautiful mountain and bay from the living room and kitchen. This house has just about every amenity and extra you could want. Thank you for a brilliant stay, and we look forward to coming back in the future.

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Check-in, communication
Stunning views. Wonderfully equipped
It would have been perfect, if the door had been open when we arrived. We were told that it would be open with the key on the inside of the door. It wasnt and after a 7 hour drive arriving at 9.30pm. Communiction with the host is lacking.
As somebody who has been visiting Harrs for 50 years but finding prices in the places we know so well rising beyond our means for every visit, this was perfect. Lovely house with loads of space for 4 adults, large living room, large well equipped kitchen and that amazing view from the dining room and living room. Less famous than Luskentyre and Seilebost, Northton is a great place to stay with amazing views, four deserted beaches in easy reach as well as wildlife (we saw otters, golden eagles and porpoises) and the Temple Cafe is a lovely wee daytime local overlooking the salt marsh, serving the best coffee ever and will also do you a wee Harris G&T. Highly recommended place to stay.

An excellent base for exploring Harris.
We've just returned from a wonderful week in Taransay Cottage. The house is very comfortable and well equipped - one of the best we've stayed in on our visits to Scotland. Northton is an excellent base to explore Harris - beautiful beaches, the Temple cafe and Croft 36 all on the doorstep. We'd fully recommend the Croft 36 'takeaways' and their delicious fish pasties!
Harris and Taransay Cottage are both great places to recharge your batteries. We enjoyed wind, rain, storms, sunshine and lots of fresh air. The beaches are stunning whatever the weather. Thanks for letting us enjoy your home. We hope to return.
Beautiful setting looking out on the sea and magnificent hills. Inside it was spacious and very well equipped. There were just two of us but it would be perfect for a family.
We loved staying at Taransay Cottage very much. Beautiful and well equpped house with breathtaking views. Stunning beaches reachable by short walks, we spotted eagles and dolphins.
Delighted with finding this place, even better than we expected, with every comfort & possible thing you can think of with the exception of an outside tap! Wonderful location with exceptional views & even though the weather wasn't great we still managed to have a lovely time. We would love to go back!😊
