The home was beautifully decorated & very clean. We arrived at 4:00 pm on Friday & unfortunately had to leave for a family emergency at home less than an hour later so never got to explore the town or property.
We have rented numerous VRBO properties and this one is truly exceptional. Christie, the host, welcomed us warmly into her guesthouse. It was clean, well stocked, beautifully decorated, full of light, and had gorgeous views of the lavender in full bloom. The location was perfect for a walk into town, a hike, or a meal in Bolivar.
What a beautiful place to stay! We had a wonderful time, and Christie was super responsive during our stay. We left well rested and with some wonderful products form the Lavender farm!
We were more than pleased with the wonderful accommodations. Christie made a super host by greeting us in person, explaining the layout of the property and giving us wonderful recommendations. We would highly recommend a stay here and definitely hope to book again for ourselves.
The cottage and surrounding property were beautiful. Close to all Harpers Ferry attractions. Christie couldn’t have been a more gracious host. The cottage was adorable and made us feel at home.
My wife and I were staying here for our wedding day that was taking place up the road. This stay was one of our favorites that we have done. The owners are vwry patient and responsive. The guest suit is very clean and comfortable with alot of natural light. I definitely recommend this property. Also, they dogs that live on the property are great and will greet you outside.
Our host Christie took the time to personally welcome us and provide information on Harper’s Ferry. Check in was easy and you can park right next to the entrance.
This was the perfect place to stay for my first-ever visit to Harpers Ferry, and my much-needed weekend away. The property itself is beautiful and so well-kept, and it had a feeling of comfortable luxury. It had everything I needed, including great spots to relax and read, and unwind and appreciate the natural surroundings. Christie is such a gracious host who made me feel so welcome, not only at the property, but in Harpers Ferry as well. Her enthusiasm for the town and her recommendations for what to see and where to eat made my stay even more special. I loved waking up to views of the Potomac River and the gorgeous and fragrant lavender field, and I’m already thinking of when I might be able to plan a future stay.
This property was above and beyond. The views were magnificent! The place was very clean, cozy, and perfect for our weekend. A lot of things to do in the area so we weren’t able to spend the time we wanted at the property. We will be back again!
We have only great things to say about this property. It is beautiful, clean, well appointed, and in a great location. We are animal lovers so our favorite part was the two dogs and cat that greeted us everyday. They were so friendly! The owner provided us with many great recommendations for things to do and restaurants which was very helpful. We would definitely come back!
If you’re looking to enjoy all that Harpers Ferry has to offer, stop and book this listing now. I cannot gush enough over every aspect of this clean, thoughtfully cultivated property. Christie and her merry band of four legged companions are treasures in their own right and I can’t wait to return. A sensational weekend!
The property was absolutely amazing. We stayed in the guesthouse above the garage (she has a couple guesthouses on her property) and it was a wonderful retreat from the daily grind. All the amenities you could need for a short stay were there, and some personal touches really elevated the experience. We took advantage of the Adirondack chairs overlooking the river--at night with a bottle of wine, and then again in the morning with coffee from the nearby bakery. There was always a welcoming committee of three super friendly dogs (and even the cat made an appearance!). Walkable distance to a couple smaller restaurants, but a little too far to walk to get into the main area of Harpers Ferry (which is nice because you didn't feel any of the presence of all of the tourists). We ran into the host, and she was so nice and lovely to talk to. We would absolutely be back!
A beautiful property and a fabulous guest house retreat decorated so lovely. Christie was a fantastic host - personally checking us in and giving us great recommendations for activities and dining. The pets outside on the property were an added joy. We had great BBQ at the Anvil nearby and listened to great music at The Barn. LOVED the view on the Maryland Heights trail and had the BEST coffee at Battlegrounds Coffee. Would definitely come back to this property - it was a memory to cherish,
Delightfully designed, comfortable, views of river, wonderful owner/host who provided just the right amount of welcome, info, and contact (as did her two dogs, friendly and ready/to-play). The window seat is especially divine. It’s about a mile from downtown, very walkable, but note it’s mostly uphill on the way back. Loved nearby music/bar venue (The Barn). In addition to hiking at MD Heights and all the history of Harpers Ferry, we enjoyed exploring nearby Sheoherdstown.
Christie’s guesthouse was absolutely perfect for enjoying Harpers Ferry. Only a short walk to the lower/historic part of town, but very close to some great restaurants and night entertainment.
The place itself was absolute perfection! Not one detail was missed - from the decor and amenities to the comfortable bed and linens/towels. We truly felt like we were right at home. And the grounds of the property were beautiful. It was nice to be able to relax and have some peace and quiet while taking in the lovely smells from the lavender fields. We were especially happy to be kept company by her two dogs!
Christie herself was the best host and we were very appreciative of all her recommendations and suggestions.
Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!
The unit itself is immaculate and couldn't be nicer. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the lack of privacy and level of activity at the property. The owner lives on site (which is fine) but the amount of other people milling around working on a project in the garage directly below our unit (until late at night) was not something that we expected. Like I said, the unit is fantastic and the owner couldn't be nicer but it's not as private as I thought it would be.
Great location! Clean, updated, upstairs guest house
We enjoyed our stay at this great location guest house. We were greeted by the 2 sweetest puppies who were very excited to have guests. The property is super cute with the lavender field and nice view at the corner of the property of the river below. The sound of the rushing water running through the rocks was music to our ears. The guest house is themed in all lavender appointed items with even unique lavender purple garage doors. There is a tall set of stairs when you enter that leads up to a large open concept bedroom bathroom and kitchen. Everything was beautifully decorated. We would have preferred a larger bed but it was very comfortable. We did not cook in the kitchen but there was a toaster oven and hot pot if needed. We would recommend a kcup machine or regular coffee maker however the Nespresso machine was a nice touch. We did enjoy it. We walked down to the music venue at the Barn one night. We felt safe in this quaint small town. We would highly recommend staying in this guest home to anyone.
