Our family enjoyed our stay in this charming old house. Though it only has one bathroom, we made it work for the five of us. We would definitely stay again.
Enjoyed our 2nd stay at this home. Place is always super clean and check in process was simple. We will continue to rent this place when we come down as long as its availble!
A quaint historical property that feels like home. Would recommend this property for families or couples. Easy to find with a great location. Perfect alternative when visiting the area.
This was a quaint cozy 3-bedroom house. Weather was perfect so we didn't use the AC or heater. The covered breezeway was so wonderful for chatting sipping wine and relaxing. Restaurant, music venue, and park all within walking distance.
Fit our needs fine. Needed a place in that part of the world for family visit on nearby ranch. Appreciated the personal host welcome and tour of property. Also appreciated multiple night lights! One minor suggestion from old folks would be safety bar in shower. Will be back!
Cute house wirh some beautiful furnishings. Thw inly problem is the lack of cellular service and wifi. Not the fault od the property or owner. Just made it difficult to communicate with our group and foe the teenagers to "connect".

Best little Home away from Home~
What a lovely little piece of history in Harper, Texas! The home is very cozy has a GREAT open Patio. Grilling area perfect to handle all your BBQ needs. We were greeted with a lovely basket with wine, summer sausage and crackers then in the frig some cheese and a local great mustard. We were ready for a glass of wine and a little snack. What a wonderful gift for us. The beds are comfortable and even though you are on 290 the house is very quiet! And a cold front came through and you would think the older home to draft...well it is not at all! We stayed very warm and cozy. The wine trail is just up the road and Fredericksburg is a great place to shop. We will certainly be back. What a Gem the Kaiser home is!

The history and spaciousness were wonderful, but some other aspects were disapponting.
Our experience was not as good as earlier guests who seemed to genuinely enjoy the property, according to the beaming entries we read in the property guest book. The home's history is interesting, and it's obvious the owners have a lot of love for this family property. A few issues prevented us from feeling welcomed or "at home." The first was a lack of communication: check-in was difficult; a wifi code was not supplied; extra payment for a last-minute guest was overly complicated. The other issues were: an overpowering smell of moth balls, (which completely ruined first impressions and affected our entire stay); a loud squeaking door to the only bathroom; opened/used bath amenities including bar soap with dried hair on it; and a non-working TV. All of these items are easy fixes which may be remedied with little effort. We actually visited briefly with the owners during our stay, and when we mentioned to them about the overwhelming moth ball odor, they seemed flabbergasted. The use of a professional extermination service rather than the use of moth balls; better communications; a liberal dose of WD-40 on the bathroom door hinges; and a basket of unopened dollar store bath supplies will go a long way to make future guests feel more at home. The master bedroom's non-working TV could simply be removed, and if Internet continues to be listed as an amenity, posting the network and wifi code would be helpful to guests. On to the positives: we loved the history of the house, its unique rock fireplace, the home's spaciousness, and the overly abundant supply of bath linens - much appreciated. Aside from the opened/partially used bath amenities, the home was very clean.
Stayed here in the past and did not disappoint again
Always clean and inviting I love staying here it is quiet and secluded I highly recommend staying here
The house is very comfortable. It has everything you need. We stayed a week and went in different directions to enjoy seeing the area. We felt it to be a great location out of the hub.
We had such an amazing stay here!! We traveled to Fredericksburg during the day and had a beautiful drive between the house and Fredericksburg. If you're traveling to this area, I highly recommend this place!! The hosts were so kind and helpful!! I hope to stay here again!!
Place was super clean! Had lots of extra supplies if needed! Gas station close, Mexican restaurant, and the longhorn cafe we ate breakfast at both days!! Saturday night there was a live band across the street, we got our pjs on and sat in the front porch and enjoyed it! Definitely will be back when weather is warmer to enjoy the outside stuff better! Loved the charm and history of the place, we all 3 said multiple times we felt like we were staying the weekend at grandma's house!
