Welcome to your Hideaway at Sturgeon Bay! Just north of Cross Village and the
Tunnel of Trees, an inviting Cottage awaits - freshly renovated, nearly everything
is new! This cottage is nestled in the darkest area of the lower peninsula for your
star gazing pleasure. It is also possible to see the Northern Lights and the Milky
Way from the beach as you enjoy your private lake access.
On the deck is a new, large Weber BBQ gas grill for your use. Down 15 steps, you
will find an expansive, uncrowded beach with a fire pit and Adirondack chairs.
Being on both Lake Michigan and Sturgeon Bay has its perks! The water is very
clean, with a nice, sandy bottom. You will see two lighthouses from the shore and
the freighters sailing by in the distance. It is so shallow by the shore; you can
comfortably walk 100+ yards into the lake.
Enjoy your morning coffee with a stunning view of Lake Michigan and
Waugoshance Point from the living room windows. The new kitchen has everything
you need: large refrigerator with ice maker, gas stove, microwave, KitchenAid
Mixer, Bosch dishwasher, toaster, blender and coffee maker. Reverse Osmosis
water is also available in the refrigerator and at the kitchen sink, also new utensils
and dishes. A new washer and dryer are on site for your use. There is also
unlimited (on-demand) hot water.
Comfortable new beds, topped with 3-inch memory foam, and top-rated LL Bean
and Land’s End bedding finished with 4 full size comfy pillows on each bed. Two
full baths. Excellent high-speed Wi-Fi, 65-inch HD smart tv, built-in USB ports in
kitchen, living room and nightstands should easily keep all of your electronics
charged and connected.
Note: The walk-out basement is being remodeled and adds a King bed, Full bath, and additional living space, available Summer 2024. This is included in the Bed/Bath Room count of 3/3, and provides sleeping arrangements for 8 total. Photos will be updated later this Spring!
Wilderness State Park, located at the end of the driveway, adds another 26 miles
of shoreline and 10,512 acres of outdoor fun. Wilderness State Park has hiking
trails, camping, bike riding, boating, bird watching, cross country skiing and
snowmobiling. For wintertime activities, you will be just 20 minutes from downhill skiing and snowboarding at Nub’s Knob and Boyne Highlands. You will also be a 30-minute drive to the Mackinac Bridge and the Mackinac Island Ferries. Harbor Springs is about a 30 minute drive and Petosky is about 40 minutes. Stop in on the quaint towns of Cross Village and Good Hart on the way through the "Tunnel of Trees".
