When I saw the photos online I thought it wasn't exactly that traditional cottage feel I wanted, but it appealed to me anyway. The photos of the inside of the home are accurate, however there is a reason there are only photos of the inside. The property is large farmland, but it is extremely poorly kept. There are weeds and unkempt grass surrounding the house along with a broken down garage space in the back. If your children like to explore, don't let them in that garage for safety reasons. There is a back entrance to the home that also needs to be avoided due to a lot of garbage (in and out of bins), general uncleanliness, and insect nests (possibly wasps). There are nails (both rusty and new) throughout the front yard all the way up to the stairs. Inside the home was relatively clean although I had to sweep up a number of cobwebs and dead bugs the first day. We couldn't open the windows for fresh air because the screens were either broken or missing, and with the nests outside I didn't want to risk anything buzzing around my children at night. I really wanted a space where I could spend time outside, chilling out and playing with my children, but this definitely is not the place for any of that. It's very quiet and a nice place once you're inside. The hosts seem lovely and respond promptly. They seem to have put much effort into the inside of the home, and have considered comforts that I think many others wouldn't (for example there are hair ties in the bathroom in case you need - this is something my wife has run into many times). I do feel a bit misled for what I wanted, but we made alternate arrangements to get out of the house every day during our stay instead of relaxing outside on the property as originally planned, so it still ended up being a nice vacation for us. If you want to do wine tours this is a great location. But if you're looking for a peaceful cottage, family, outdoor optional experience, this is not the place for that. This place definitely has its pro's and con's, and I wanted to give an in depth review so that others could make a more informed decision than we were able to.
