Being located up in the mountains, surrounded by nothing but tea, was just beautiful and so peaceful. The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant, instead you order what you want at what time you want it, which is such a unique experience. As others have mentioned, the hotel is a Jeep-ride up a steep mountain which adds to the experience and sense of adventure. The hotel is a little rough around the edges and not as polished as the pictures, but for us this added to the charm. "

"Outstanding property. Very quiet admist nature with river flowing nearby. Room was big and clean, jaccuzi was great and the food was delicious. But what stood out was the customer service of the people who work there. In all my travel I have never experienced such a customer service anywhere. Especially Asalanka and Dimender. They were soft spoken, clearly explained everything and was willing to help with anything. The people who work there is what makes the difference and is definitely a highlight of my Srilanka trip. Definitely Recommended 5 stars. "

"The Hantara lodges are close to the Udawalawal National Park and very convenient for safaris and the elephant orphanage. The staff are very helpful and attentative. We stayed 2 nights with other guests staying one night. Basic facilities which is great for a short time"
