I’d recommend going in the shoulder season. I went in February hoping it would snow (It did!), and I’m glad I went in low season even though the salt mines and other things were closed.

"We arrived in Hallstatt around 3pm and found a parking spot in P1. It takes about 5-10 minutes to walk to the VRBO. There is a shuttle available, but I cannot comment on that.
