Staff were very helpful, the property and room were great value for its price and the area felt safe and in a good location. There's also free parking and staff let us store our luggage for a few hours after we checked out. I would definitely recommend and would stay here again!

The property itself was great - clean, modern, safe and within walking distance of most of downtown. The only issue were the beds; the mattresses were insanely uncomfortable and the bedding really thin, which made for some really cold nights. Otherwise, everything was fine.

Very nice option instead of a very pricey hotel. My sister and I spent a few days in Halifax and we each had our own room (typical dorm room) and a connecting bathroom. Very basic of course but great for just having a place to sleep. Very impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms also. Didn’t check out any common areas or kitchen or pool. We would do this again.

My only issue with this accommodation is expedia listing multiple addresses rather than just the one required. A 50 minute walk in the rain rather than what should have been 10 minutes is slightly frustrating. The staff from dal were A . Expedia, not so much.

Great property. Clean, efficent, queit. The risley hall residence has no airconditioning and they only prpvide one pillow. Other than that a very pleseant stay.

Very basic accomodation. Shared washrooms could have been a bit less stark. Also laundry facilities should have clearer labeling and instruction. Maybe the students get an orientation but the guests have to guess how to operate the machines and figure out which are the washers and which are the dryers. Also doors on public rooms (kitchen, lounge) didn't always open and there was no notice about when those rooms were available for use.

Comfortable for solo travellers
It was super nice and handy to have my own room with a sink. I felt very safe and comfortable. The only thing I did not like and didn't expect is that the kitchen did not have any kitchen wear so I could not cook my own meals. However, I could use the fridge, though it smelled bad and was full of expired and rotten food which made me hesitant to use it.

The staff were lovely and it felt secure. The bed was so uncomfortable that it made it hard to sleep and aggravated pre-existing back problems. I would recommend this accommodation if you are on a budget and don’t mind a less comfortable bed. The location is great and the staff are wonderful.

Very good and unique experience
Red the security desk person was awesome and very helpful and friendly. The showers could be a little cleaner and have more shelves and not be dark until you close the door but other than that it's a great value for the price and the parking pass is nice that it's included very much appreciated that it's not extra for parking like at many hotels. It's very close to the water front and has some nice views from the lounge.

If you ever lived in a residence building while you were at school, you know exactly what to expect here! They keep the place well cleaned (as much as shared bathrooms in an older building can be, at any rate), and the beds are as comfy as school loft beds ever are, with cozy fleece blankets if it gets chilly. Lots of convenient outlets for your devices, big desk if you've got some work to get done, very friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the location's central so you can get anywhere in the city either by walking or a quick bus trip. Perfect as a base-camp when you've got plans and things to do during your days, although probably not a place you'd want to kick your feet up and spend a whole day in the room (unless you're nostalgic for the halcyon student days of cramming a last-minute assignment into a 24-hour panicked fugue? You do you).
