If you're looking for the perfect lakeside family retreat, look no further. Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life at this newly renovated, quaint lake house situated on East Bass Lake in Gwinn, MI. Enjoy the water with 2 paddle boards and 5 kayaks. In the evening you can play cards or board games, watch movies, surf the internet, relax while watching the sunset from the gazebo, and make s'mores at the fire pit. Our cottage is perfectly set-up for large gathering, boasting 5 bedrooms each with a beautiful view of the lake. The house is situated on a peninsula, so you have breathtaking views and water access on both sides of the cabin. This family retreat is fully furnished with linens, towels, kitchenware, cooking spices, water toys, bicycles, and cards/board games for everyone. We are located less than 30 minutes from Marquette, Northern Michigan University, Lake Superior theater, and Marquette Mountain ski area. This is a perfect location for a family vacation! Tahquemenon Falls, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Seney Wildlife Refuge, Porcupine Mountain State Park, Isle Royale, and Mackinaw Island are all within a few hours drive. Marquette County has become a destination for mountain biking and cross-country skiing. This lake house is an ideal summer getaway for sightseeing, water-sports, golf, boating, fishing, biking, and hiking. Our cabin is pet-friendly allowing 1 small pet under 50 lbs. with a $100 pet fee paid at the time of booking.

Perfect Lake Getaway!
Myself and 5 other family members stayed at this beautiful lake house for a week! We absolutely loved every minute and had a great time making memories in the great UP! We traveled from Kentucky to the UP and was able to find something to get into everyday. We even took a day to sit around and relax. Dana was amazing with any questions we had. Thank you so much the amazing experience!!

Family Vacation
We took our family (usually 10 but 8 this year) for our annual UP vacation and we all loved this property , this lake and this location. The house easily accomodated us all. The outside deck and furniture was awesome of all of relaxing, eating , visiting together or just watching the lake. The water by pier dock was shallow enough for our 2 year old grandson to walk around and play in . The fishing was great - which pleased us all. We would definitely visit here again .

A Hidden Gem
This house is located on a quiet lake and we had a great time swimming, kayaking, and riding in the pontoon boat. We saw bald eagles flying over the lake in the morning. The host provided everything we needed, including life jackets, towels, and water toys. There were ample bedrooms for our two families with kids. The property manager was very helpful when we had an issue come up requiring a repair and got it fixed the same day.

This place was perfect for our family of 12. Beautiful view of the lake on both sides of this cottage which actually is a home!!! It is extremely well furnished, clean and organized!! Has all the extras!!! Communication was excellent! We had great weather and enjoyed all their yard games, kayaks, and paddle boards! Lots of fish were caught as well! They even spoiled us with some local treats to welcome us! Our ages ranged from 80 down to 8 - there was something for everyone to do!

Relaxation!!! Just what we needed
My family and the families of my 2 sisters met at this incredible home for a Memorial Week get away. It was PERFECT! We had 6 adults and 7 kids and we had MORE than enough room. The home is situated on a quiet lake at the end of a peninsula, so you are virtually surrounded by lake views. It has all the things needed, so all we had to bring were our clothes and food! Wonderfully comfortable bedding, clean fully appointed kitchen (even had a Keurig!) 3 separate "Living" areas, so everyone had space. TV's in each room, wireless.. and we haven't even started on the outdoor stuff! I can't say enough about this place. We spent our days fishing, kayaking, and Jet skiing.. and the evening in the hot tub, having bonfires and making S'mores...Fall asleep to the sounds of spring peepers and wake up to the call of the loons. PERFECT! Something for everyone...and the space to enjoy and relax. Thank you Sue and Scott. We will be back. And a special thanks to Les, our one woman welcome wagon.. thank you for explaining everything and answering all the questions. See you next year... ( if I can wait that long)

Wonderful Stay
This place was amazing with the water on both sides. It offered something for everyone in our group kyaking, fishing, bonfires. Parking was a bit tight as we had four trucks and trailers with side by sides but we were able to make it work. We had a wonderful time riding the trails during the day and hanging out playing cards and sitting around the campfire at night. Would love to come back during the summer and again next fall. a great hangout spot

Cozy Lake House
We rented this lake house for a visit to my father's childhood home in Sagola. Not much is close to Sagola so we were happy to find a spacious home on the lake that could accommodate our family of 8 adults. Our GPS got confused and we were a bit lost on the way, but our host was incredibly helpful and gave us step by step directions to find the home. It was easy to access and to unload our belongings. The home listing is accurate and the photos are current. The views are amazing! It was also very quiet as the home is at the end of a road and the neighbors are not too close; it felt very private. There are some odd nuances like having to make the beds upon arrival (no idea why sheets are not on the beds), and a pretty long list of clean up upon departure. This home is very likely not often rented and is used more as a family home in which guests would not mind making beds, stripping beds, putting laundry into bags and clearing trash for the host. The cleaning fee is marginal for the size of the property, so it was not much of an imposition. Those nuances aside, this place is very comfortable and private and has beautiful views. There are gas and grocery options within a short drive, so it is not too remote either. I would recommend this lake house to others who need a place to stay in this part of the Upper Peninsula.

Wonderful Upper Peninsula Experience
We loved this house. It was lovely, clean, comfortable, in a quiet location on a beautiful lake. We enjoyed fishing in the lake. The house is close enough to Marquette that we were able to enjoy the Pictured Rocks boat tour and take advantage of dinners in some of the great restaurants in Marquette. Wonderful vacation!

Peninsula Paradise
Our family found ourselves wanting to stay and enjoy the property more and it’s picturesque beauty. Originally we had planned to sight see the whole time and we were glad to enjoy the home half of our stay. Also, we were very impressed we could view the Northern lights on our last night. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the master bedroom’s views and will definitely come back to stay here! It was such a treat to have a view of the lake feol eaxh room in the house.

Summer Family Getaway
This home was a wonderful stay for an extended family vacation. The home was spacious and well stocked. The outside area was wonderful. Our only negative feedback was regarding the lake, this is more of a fishing lake than a water sports lake in our opinion, and our boat was too large for this lake. Not the fault of the owners and we were able to enjoy their pontoon for the week which was very nice! However we would not bring our boat back to this location. Otherwise the stay was perfect!

Great location. Lovely home. Many more amenities than I expected. Saw the Northern Lights for the first time in my life. Kids loved the water and kayaks. Larry’s store and the bait shop were convenient and helpful. Could have used hand rails on steps and front door.

Perfect Calm
This hidden gem was the perfect retreat for our busy family to unwind and reconnect. We took in all the amazing features of the home and also the beautiful lake we were surrounded by. It was close enough to Gwinn that a quick trip for food or pizza was easy (and delicious). It was the reset we needed after a very busy school year.

Quality Lake Home, Great for a Group
Our family enjoyed our stay. The common areas are spacious, well-appointed, and good for a large group. The outdoor seating and lake views were lovely. The master bedroom was large and lake facing with a comfy bed. The queen bedrooms and the double bunk bedroom were nice as well. The 5th bedroom with the twin beds did not work out for our family as it was really cold in that room and the water heater was pretty noisy in there. Overall, a quality place to stay with above average lake views and access.

Great fishing for the kids. Very roomy for 14 of us. Lots of outside chairs available. Lots of firewood. Plenty of life jackets. Lots of forks for smores. Having 2 refrigerators was great. Nice shallow water for younger kids. Would have been nice to have more microwave dishes. Master bedroom had an amazing view but could have used a privacy screen for dressing since anybody from the outside could see in.

Fantastic Views
We had a lovely, relaxing stay in Gwinn, MI. The water views from inside and outside the home were amazing. The moonlight dancing on the water was unlike anything I’d seen before. House was plenty big (we could have used more people in our party!) Kitchen fully stocked and plenty of room. All amenities as described. We had a great stay. Hope to re-visit in the future with bigger group.

Amazing vacation home
Our 4 generation group of 10 stayed for one week while attending a family wedding in the area. The house, lake and amenities were all as listed. One of the best supplied VRBO rentals we have stayed at!! Nancy was great to work with, always keeping us informed on what we needed to know and checking in frequently. The dock and swim area was perfect to hang out with our 10 month old grandson; clear water, sandy bottom and not deep. Breathtaking views from morning to night from the back deck. The house is secluded and the lake is very quiet and relaxing! Very impressed with the WiFi. Visiting Presque Isle Park and the Black Rock area was amazing!! 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!!!
