"This might be a nice place during tourist season, but do not book here in the off season. Hotel was closed when we arrived and had to telphone someone to open for us. There was no heat in the hotel and had to call again about the heat. They brought us an electric heater, but it wasn't adequate. They finally turned on the heat to the room after calling expidia to complain. We were the only quests in the hotel that night, at least it was quiet."

"We stayed here for a week in early July and had a fantastic holiday. Hans and Anna are perfect hosts, cheerful, friendly and very welcoming, and and their garden apartment that we stayed in was immaculate and fully equipped with everything that anyone would ever need. "This is a perfect holiday location....the apartment has everything you need & was spotlessly clean. Gengenbach is probably the prettiest town we saw in the Black Forest & a fantastic base to explore the region. We stayed 11 nights & used the train on the Konus card scheme every day bar 1.....great for taking the stress away & having a German beer or 2! Anja was fantastic in welcoming us & giving lots of tips on where to eat etc....she was always at the end of the phone if we had a question....
