I believe that the owners are good people, but the property manager(s) are doing a less than adequate job of caring for the owner’s condo. All of the basic amenities that we were told about were there for us upon arrival (1 each of hotel size bar soap, shampoo, lotion and also toilet and towel papers, etc). We arrived very late due to our own circumstances, so we piled in and went right to bed. Upon waking, we discovered that the condo had not been cleaned as we were told it would be. Perhaps I have too high a standard as the owner of my own cleaning company, but it was not clean. And it looked as if the dust on all furniture and surfaces, and OTHER PEOPLE’S HAIR (in drawers, on soap bottles, ALL OVER the floors) had been in their respective locations for a while. I didn’t even bother letting anyone know because we were on vacay and didn’t want to be bothered. It was supposed to be taken care of in advance. There were also light bulbs out. That one isn’t as much of a concern, just annoying.
We never received a call, text, email, greeting card on the table or knock at the door from anyone in management. Never even saw anyone at the little office. The only signs of life besides a few other guests was a lawn care company once. No maintenance people. No painters. No lifeguards. Just nothing. No one caring for the properties, at all.
If I were the owner, I would be having a talk with the property manager. We didn’t mind the drive to the beach. We loved how close everything was. But, we will not return to this property in Gulf Shores.
