Quite remote location on Manhanock Pond, in Parkman Maine. Our Bunk house and our Main house share 18 acres of land and 1/4 mile of waterfront. Manhanock and Harlow Ponds are managed as one body of water. Fish pass freely under a bridge on the causeway that separates the ponds. The ponds provide a popular fishery for boat anglers and for shore anglers from the causeway. The ponds are open to ice fishing. The town of Parkman is in the center of Maine, with 843 residents. We have one local store, but don’t worry the surrounding towns have plenty to offer.

Located just 40 minutes from Greenville and 2.5 hours from Acadia National Park, our property provides easy access to both local amenities and popular attractions. After a day of exploring the bustling beauty of Acadia, guests can return to the peaceful quiet of the Maine woods at Dragonwood.

Parkman is small town with great scenery. You can travel roads both paved and dirt roads in most any vehicle.

Perfect Family Retreat
We recently stayed here for a family retreat with 20 people, ranging from adults to teenagers, kids, and even infants. The house exceeded our expectations in every way. It’s absolutely beautiful, well-maintained, and offers activities for all ages. The kids especially loved the ninja challenge course, while we all enjoyed the canoeing and kayaking—there were more than enough kayaks for everyone! Carrie was fantastic, regularly checking in to see if we needed anything and always responding quickly to any questions. Honestly, the place had everything we needed, so there was little to ask for. A special highlight was meeting the owner, who has a helicopter on the property. He generously spent over 40 minutes with us, showing the helicopter and explaining its workings in detail. On our last day, he even flew it so the kids could watch the takeoff, which made the stay even more memorable! This place is perfect for large family gatherings, and we’d definitely love to stay here again.

Beautiful Maine experience
We got married at Dragonwood on 8/3/24 and absolutely loved our time there. I would say the property is even nicer than pictured. Just so much space and privacy to enjoy the grounds. Definitely utilize their catering options, and Carrie will help with whatever you need! We’ll definitely be back!

Extended family reunion
Dragonwood was the perfect place for our big family reunion. We came in from California, Texas, Florida, New York, and New Hampshire. We had 28 people ranging from 1 to 74!! The bunk house fit 19 of us including 11 children 3 of which were in pack n plays. The main house was great for the older generation to rest and relax. We all had plenty of space. The dinners we ordered through Dragonwood were delicious and enough for all. We had so much to do between the art studio, confidence course, the fish house equipped with every size life jacket and kayaks, the swim platform was a huge hit. Everyone could find something they enjoyed. The scenery was stunning and peaceful. We had the best time. Carrie was an excellent communicator and answered so many of our questions previous to arrival and was only a text message away. My only criticism (if you can call it that) is that I wish I had known all the amenities that were available I could’ve packed less! Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided as well as tons of towels and beach towels. There were so many life jackets and chairs all over the property we didn’t have to pack those! 10/10 would highly recommend!!

Great property, better service.
We had a great time at Dragonwood. The property is amazingly beautiful. Great activities for the kiddos with a relaxing environment for the adults. By far one of the greatest assets to this property was the staff. Carrie and her crew were accomodating to every request and need we had with utmost speed. You can't beat the taste of fresh Maine blueberries right off the bush. We were so lucky to be there right at the beginning of picking season.

Amazing Getaway Weekend
We had 22 friends meet at Dragonwood for a long weekend get away. The experience was amazing from the very start when Carrie met us at the front door to give us a tour. The pictures don’t do the property justice- the ground we’re beautiful, well maintained, and bigger than expected. There was plenty of room for all of us to gather together in the bunk room for game nights, but also spread out into the main house, fire pit, or dock if wanted. The house was fully stocked with every kitchen need, plenty of towels and bedding, and some snacks the owners provided as well. I would highly recommend this house to anyone. My only warning would be it’s a steep walk down to the lake. It wouldn’t be ideal for anyone who can’t handle a lot of stairs. However this didn’t hold our group back.

Beautiful but busy property
Dragonwood is a beautiful place full of high-quality amenities in all areas including the kitchens, baths, patio, and boathouse. The houses and grounds were perfectly clean and well kept. Our group of ten adults was so pleased with Manhanock Pond, it is very clean and excellent for swimming and boating. The only negative of this property was a serious issue with the lack of privacy and unpleasant communication with property owner and manager on site. The Dragonwood team members initially accommodated our request for privacy but by the end of the week this broke down and we were interrupted by a helicopter landing on the property, workers waking sleeping guests to tend the grounds, frequent entry into the office which is attached to the bunk house, and ATVs driving through the property. When we continued to ask for more privacy, the request was met with hostility. These experiences impacted our ability to have a peaceful and private experience. Dragonwood is a beautiful spot for an event but not ideal for solitude.

Summertime
The main house as well as the bunkhouse were perfect for my family of 9 and our 3 dogs. The photos don’t do the grounds justice. There was ample space for the dogs and kids to run and it was a challenge to get them out of the pond with how much fun they were having. The main house fire pit was perfect at the end of every day for relaxing while we cooked dinner on the grill. One thing to note as it may cause some difficulties for certain people- there are a lot of stairs and a rather steep walk to get to the water from the main house, though there are alternate cleared paths you can take through the woods to avoid the stairs. We enjoyed our week very much and highly recommend!
