"Perfect for staying by the Inselsee for a couple of days. Beautiful location by the lake. Maybe better to come with a car, but 15 min walk there are occasional buses to train station also. Bike rental nearby. Service superb and friendly. Nice buffet breakfast. With such bargain price really worth to go for. "

"A very loud fire alarm went off at 4am and went on for quite a while. I was already running on the stairs when it stopped. Goodbye sleep. The following morning I was expecting some apologies but no. When I mentioned it, the guy at the reception very cheerfully said "Oh, that. Yes, there was no fire, it was just a coffee machine. But so we know that the alarm works!" Which is Mecklenburg-Vorpommern idea of sense of humour, maybe."

"We have stayed in Gustrow many times over the years and usually choose another hotel, just out of the centre. This is a small hotel with small rooms. The Reception staff was very good and very friendly. The room was very small and the bathroom was even smaller. The bed was very hard, but the mattress was of good quality. "This is a hostel and not a hotel. It is only ideal for one night. They do not clean the room nor give you fresh sheets or towels during a longer stay. We stayed 6 nights and it's too long. If you want these services you have to pay for them. I understand not cleaning but you need towels during a long stay. Any room that faces the square will face 24 hour noise from Street cleaning at 6am, the setting up of market stalls at 6am three times a week, church bells all night and shouting and screaming...
