You pretty much have everything you need on the resort, but we had a great time exploring other parts of the island. "Here's the deal with the Carambola in the opinion from someone who has been coming there for over a decade. It was once a stunning eco resort covered with tropical plants and beautiful 'bungalows' nestled into a secluded tropical cove. One of staff members who deals with the snorkel and beach equipment was a little snooty, maybe she was having a bad day. Overall it was a great experience and a nice boutique type hotel. One of the owners was very personable. Armas at the front desk was really nice and helpful. We would definitely recommend this place. "

But know that there is no breakfast at the hotel or nearby, so if you are a breakfast eater, you have to drive into Christianstead, 25 minutes away. "A bit of an older crowd than I anticipated based on the advertising. The staff was beyond amazing and friendly--they truly made our stay. The views are phenomenal. The hotel is a quick walk to the pier/restaurants/shops. A few cons--not a quiet area. Lots of barking dogs, chickens/roosters, etc. The area seems a bit sketch after dark but we were never confronted or asked for money. The hotel is adult-only, but it is open to the public so there can/will be kids, especially on cruise ship days....
