6/10 Okay

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
This is a country inn, so the front desk is basically unstaffed, until someone notices that you’re there. This, both when checking in and checking out, we had to walk around and find someone to assist us.
We were there on one of the hottest summer days on record. The building has no air conditioning (not even a fan), and our West-facing room was very hot. We opened the windows and the room cooled off a bit as nightfall, but there were no screens on the windows so the room was soon full of flies, and a few mosquitoes. We killed a bunch before retiring, and it was basically okay until the sun came up (around 5) as the flies the awoke and became active—also waking us.
The room was nice, except that the mattress was just foam, so not suitably supporting.
We liked the place and the people and do not blame them for the weather, but feel they could have taken some measures, like drawing the curtains to keep West-facing rooms cooler, getting fans and installing screens, to ensure guest comfort.
