"This is a lovely hotel. It is set in a stunning location, with views from the conservatory across the lake. The hotel is beautiful inside, with lovely dining areas serving excellent food, friendly and helpful staff, a lovely spa and swimming pool, and nicely decorated bedrooms. The hotel is also dog-friendly. The Windermere cruises depart from outside the hotel, and it is also a short walk across the car park to the Lakeside Aquarium and Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway."

"Hotel sited in a place with bus and tram stops a short walk from Hotel. First room we were allocated had a fault with lighting and insecure door locking system also double bed pushed right up against the wall ok for younger generation, manager quickly moved ourselves to another room which was what we should have had in the first place, bit of mish mash furniture but comfortable bed and clean room. Really good breakfast . parts of the hotel now a bit tired but we will be back"

"Good things -Clean and quiet hotel located in great central area overlooking the lake. -Room was lovely. -Great breakfast. Bad things - £25 per day for parking in their own car park 5min walk away feels like a rip off. -Over sensitive fire alarm system meaning 1 alarm going off per day of our stay. "The Daffodil is conveniently located for easy access to Grasmere and the nearby lakes. It is ideal for a walking holiday and is surrounded by the beautiful Lakeland fells and lakes. The hotel staff are friendly and the hotel offers a good menu with a range of meals at reasonable prices. "

"An average guest house. Friendly staff and comfortable bed. I felt more could be done to reduce waste. For example using glasses instead of plastic cups in room; using shampoo and shower gel dispensers; using small dishes of marmalade and butter, weetabix in a large container rather than individual plastic wraps. Breakfast was ok though cooking of black pudding was poor and the bread could have been nicer. A bit noisy from room next door, you could hear the neighbours talking. "

"Lovely rooms. Nice spacious modern shower. Reasonably priced. Access to parking is tricky in a big vehicle, but plenty of room on street if you don't mind a few steps. Great location (less than 5 minutes from Bowness.) Would definitely return."
