"The property was very nice but the owner did not tell us he had an aggressive dog on the property before we arrived, knowing we were bringing our dog with us. He had his aggressive dog in a field opposite the property off lead and with no muzzle. When the owner's dog saw ours, which was on lead, he ran over at full speed, we were unable to get the dog back in the house. "A truly wonderful find! Quiet, convenient, clean well appointed cottage, with attentive, friendly hosts. Good parking, near enough (by car) to the Mourne Mountains, Murlough, Tyrella and Ballykinler beaches and Newcastle. About a 45 min drive from Belfast. A great haven for peaceful outdoor pursuits or just getting away from it all. Will happily stay again! "

"This cottage is a real gem of a find. We had a lovely relaxing week in November in this impeccably renovated and decorated 200 year old cottage which has original features blended with all the modern comforts you could need including underfloor heating and a cosy stove for evenings around the fire. The cottage itself is set in the rolling County Down hills with glimpses of the Mourne Mountains in the distance on winding walks around the quiet roads. "We stayed from Monday through to Sunday; 2 adults, 12 years old daughter and 2 dogs. We had a thoroughly lovely stay here with quiet surrounds, fresh eggs for breakfast and loads of space for the dogs to run around. We spent a little time initially ensuring the dogs couldn't get out the huge garden because of the sheep and horses that live around you (and who add to the feeling of "being away from it all" ) and they were then free to enjoy their holiday too! "We stayed for 3 nights for ease to be closeby to the Royal Victoria Hospital - which only took us about 8 minutes in the car. Check in was brilliant, really lovely member of staff on the desk. I had emailed about the apartment being ready a bit earlier and this was no problem. The secure underground parking was a huge benefit.
