Gramma Dottie’s Garden Retreat

Grandma Dottie's is a private room in the upstairs of our home. We host two private bedrooms in this home with a jack and jill bathroom between the rooms. Each room has a queen bed and a dedicated desk. Each room has a closet and plenty of room to stow your belongings out of the way. Dottie’s space is located less than a mile from Cone Hospital as well as Downtown Greensboro in the Idlewood Neighborhood. This room will accommodate up to two registered guests.

Please register all guests. Gramma Dottie's is upstairs and to the left, and is a private room in our shared space home. Each room has a mini-fridge and microwave. Please remove all food waste and trash outside to help us keep insect guests from being tempted to join us. We are located within walking distance of downtown Greensboro in the Idlewood Neighborhood. Should you need a whole house, please see our listing at Idlewood House. Pet fee is based on size, shed level, and the number of pups you are traveling with. We keep chickens so let us know if you have never eaten fresh eggs.. we might have some extra to share.

Gramma Dottie's is a private room with one queen bed, with bedroom access to en suite Jack and Jill style full bath that is shared with Mawmaw Uschi's, the other upstairs bedroom. Please be respectful of other guests.

Idlewood Neighborhood is located within walking distance of Downtown Greensboro. Fisher Park, Latham Park, Old Irving Park, College Hill, Lake Daniel, and Westerwood neighborhoods are all within walking distance. There is s skatepark down Hill Street, with the Greenway Urban Trail picking up in two locations within a short walk. Going under Wendover on the Urban Trail will take you to Elm Street, near Cone Hospital Main Campus. Going the other direction will take you towards Friendly Center. and Westly Long Hospital on Elam.

Uber and Lyft are available through their apps, as are Lime bikes and scooters. There is a public bus that picks up at several locations within a very short walk.

Please have a cup of coffee in the morning with us, should you choose. If you need to use the stove or oven, please ASK first, as this is not an offered amenity with this listing.
We are a local, non-corporate business that supports Guilford County students with learning differences through experiential learning in our local, non-corporate, managed guest homes. This private bedroom connects to an en suite Jack and Jill-style bathroom, shared exclusively with one other guest room, ensuring both comfort and convenience.

The shared Jack and Jill bathroom includes a curved glass shower, pedestal sink, and an assortment of travel essentials for hair and skin.

We live on the main floor of the house and are happy to assist with any questions during your stay. While this is a shared home, we’ve designed Grandma Dottie’s Retreat to offer you a comfortable and private experience.

Grandma Dottie's is a private room in the upstairs of the home where we live. There is an ensuite Jack and Jill bathroom that is connected to the other upstairs room, Uschie's. Guests staying 30 days or longer may use the washer for one load of wash per week. There is a dorm sized refrigerator and a microwave in this room. Wipes (baby or "flushable")

Q-tips or cotton balls
Only flush natural waste and toilet paper. Flushing other items can cause costly clogs, with a fee of $100 to $500 for repairs, which will be billed to you.

Towels: $20 each
Sheet Sets: $100 per set
Pillow Cases: $25
Quilts/Blankets: $20 to $500 (depending on the item)
Trash & Recycling

Green can: Trash
Brown can: Recycling (no plastic bags, please)
Gray can: Yard waste only
Trash and recycling are picked up on Mondays (except holidays). Please dispose of waste in the designated bins behind the house.

Shared Spaces

Enjoy the fenced backyard and small Weber gas grill. If the gas tank runs out, please let us know so we can replace it.
Our landscaper and pest control service will periodically access the yard and crawlspace. If you notice bugs inside, please clean up food crumbs, spills, and message us to request pest control service inside the home if needed.
Furniture & Decor
Please don’t rearrange furniture or hang or attach anything on the walls.

Quiet Hours
Be mindful of noise levels from 9 PM to 9 AM to respect our neighbors.

Checkout

Set HVAC to 68-72°F
Remove all trash to outdoor bins
Remove all personal items
Do not turn off HVAC
Report any accidental damage

Pet waste must be disposed of in designated outdoor bins.
Excess cleaning fee of $80 per hour for pet waste, fur, or damage to furnishings.
Direct pets to non-grass areas to prevent lawn damage.
The pet fee covers cleaning for one low-shed, small to medium pet. For multiple pets or high-shed pets, please schedule mid-stay cleaning.

Guest & Pet Registration
Please add all guests and pets (with their emails) to your reservation to comply with platform requirements.
