"We recently stayed in this cabin during winter, traveling all the way from Florida with our family (5 adults and 4 kids). The house itself is exactly as described—clean, spacious, and beautifully secluded in nature. The privacy and peaceful surroundings were exactly what we were looking for. However, our experience was significantly affected by poor management. Shortly after arriving, we discovered that the AC was broken. With temperatures outside at 24F and the cabin being wooden with only a small fireplace, this quickly became a serious issue. To make matters worse, there was no hardwood stored for the fireplace, leaving us scrambling to find a solution in freezing conditions. We immediately contacted the property owner, who assured us that an AC technician would come and that firewood would be supplied. Unfortunately, the technician never showed up, and the wood only arrived the evening before our departure—far too late to be helpful. Since leaving early wasn’t an option (everything nearby was fully booked), we had no choice but to endure the cold. Desperate to stay warm, we had to drive 30 miles to purchase hardwood and the last available space heater in the local store—additional expenses that could have been avoided with proper preparation from the host.At the end of our stay, we reached out to the owner to request reimbursement for at least the cost of the heating supplies. Disappointingly, we received no response at all."
