This property ticked all our boxes and Steve was a great host. The cabin was well appointed and clean and at just about a 2-hour drive from Mississauga was easily accessible. I would highly recommend this property to those looking for a place to decompress / relax.
A wonderful place to go to get away from it all, but still within a short drive of the popular parts of Muskoka. Steve and his wife clearly put a lot of time into making the cabin welcoming and homely, and was kind and helpful throughout. So many stars on a clear night, and we were lucky enough even to see the aurora! Definitely recommended!
Spent my girlfriend’s birthday weekend at the cabin and had the nicest time. Perfect for a quite relaxing weekend with a perfect fire pit area and cozy inside for movie nights
The pictures do not do it justice, the cabin is perfect for a couple wanting to get away from it all. The owner went above and beyond to accomodate us and any questions we had during our stay, a real treat. The cabin was cute, cozy with a little gas fireplace, we were provided wifi for internet, access to a tv all set up with various channels, a BBQ outside on the porch, a beautiful bay with nobody around, a real treasure, we loved it so much and will certainly come back again.
My partner and I booked through Steve for some much needed time away to relax and it was well worth it! This beautiful 2 level cabin on the lake is extremely cozy with all the creature comforts of home. The perfect place to go when there’s not much planned! We will definitely be back.
My husband and our dog had a terrific 4 night stay at this log cottage. Views are stunning, felt very private even though owners next door. Steve is a great host. Replied promptly to requests and greeted us upon our arrival. One room cabin has all your basic necessities. Bed is queen and very comfy. Be aware you need to be able to manage steps into cabin and down into the bathroom. The walk outside to the bath allowed us to not miss the great dark sky stars at night. We didn't want to leave the awesome lake views sitting on the porch. We’d highly recommend booking this little gem.

Loved the Sauna and the view is breathless. Thinking about renting it in the winter.
We loved our stay at Steve’s cottage. The cottage is super cozy, clean and has modern appliances. We stayed here in winter and felt very warm and cozy inside. The view of the lake is absolutely beautiful and the area is quiet and peaceful, perfect for relaxing. Steve was a great host, super nice, great instructions and he even personally made sure we were settled in. We would love to come back!
The cabin is extremely cozy but also has every amenity you would need. Awesome views of the lake and a very quiet and peaceful place. Steve is a great host and incredibly helpful. He lives near the property so he is able to help with whatever you may need, however he is also very mindful of privacy. He even shovelled around the cabin for us as we were hit with quite a bit of snow. Amazing stay, highly recommend for some great down time.
Awesome place for rest, relaxation and rejuvenation
The cabin and surrounding area are extremely clean, upon arrival we were greeted with the opportunity of seeing a fox just relaxing near the waterfront. Steve came over and introduced himself and gave us a rundown of what was available on the property. Steve and his wife Cathy are two of the best hosts we have ever met. We had the use of our own dock as well as their dock for fishing, relaxing ad swimming. The water was about 26 C..very refreshing. There were also kayaks and paddle boards available at no extra cost. The cabin was extremely cozy. It was not difficult to notice the pride that Steve had in providing his guests with the utmost in comfort and privacy that this cabin and surrounding area are known for. Highly recommended.

Disliked: Listing accuracy
Listing accuracy is questionable.
We booked this property based on the listing description and the highly rated reviews. It clearly stated that this was a one bedroom 500 sq.ft. cabin. In reality, it was a one room 200 sq. ft. bunkie into which was squeezed a queen bed, a table and 2 chairs and a small kitchenette. ‘One bedroom’ implies a separate room with a bed. This was a studio, the size of a bedroom, with no room for extra seating. Additionally, the listing clearly stated that this was a bed and breakfast with ‘breakfast provided daily’. When we arrived we were told it was only for the first morning of our stay and consisted of 2 croissants, 2 small yoghurts and one apple to share. Although providing our own breakfast is not a huge deal, the lack of transparency was concerning. We had booked 7 nights for our stay but left 2 days early since the quarters were so cramped especially when weather did not allow us to be outside. This was not a comfortable stay and was our first disappointment with a VRBO listing.
It has everything one could need - it is just small - nothing deceptive about the online description at all.
Quiet with a truly lovely road across the street that I walked down at least three times every day I was there with the dogs - never did see a house - met a nice fellow on a bicycle and two cars, both of which stopped while I leashed the dogs.
Owner is wonderful.
Loved the cabin and the setting. We had a wonderful relaxing time and highly recommend it! We swam, went kayaking and walked, taking in the beautiful surroundings.
