"What a fantastic place to stay. A country pub set in a beautiful village. The pub overlooks fields. Our room was great -comfortable with quirky bits! - including a selection of books on the bookshelf to a little bottle of a liquor. Loved the pantry on the landing with fresh milk, bottles of water and extra toiletries. The breakfast is superb with a good selection of delicious items. We chose to eat in the pub - again it was absolutely delicious. "

A bit disappointed that breakfast was not served until 9.00 am, although they did offer me a take away hamper. This was a business trip so I could not hang around for breakfast. "The room was very nice, the pub is pretty, and the village is pretty. However the listing was misleading - the restaurant doesn't function midweek, and they don't do breakfast either during the week. I was walking, and didn't want to walk more miles to eat. It's not hard to provide a cold breakfast. So make sure you check whether they're doing food if it matters to you. "

Continually excellent.
"We have stayed many times in Hempstead House Hotel and it always exceeds expectation. This time we were in the original part of the hotel. The room was pristine and the amenities were very good. The surrounding gardens are lovely and although we didn't use the spa on this occasion, it looked beautiful and clean. The staff have always been friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good. Dinner, which was served with a choice of two restaurants, both formal or more casual, was of an excellent standard. I would always return to this hotel when in the area."
