“Riverside Escape”

Enjoy a “Riverside Escape” with your family. Nestled on the banks of the New River, you can listen to the sounds of the rippling water while relaxing on the spacious deck or curled up in the hammock while watching tubers or canoers pass by. You can also rent your own tube or kayak a short distance from the vacation home at Riverside Canoes. Cast your fishing line out for mountain trout, right from your very own river frontage. You’ll also enjoy gathering ’round the firepit for an evening campfire, roasting marshmallows and catching fireflies. For some winter fun, head to one of our three most popular ski resorts: Appalachian Ski Mtn, Sugar Mtn, or Beech Mtn.

Inside, you will find a comfy living area with vaulted ceilings and plenty of windows for extra lighting and river views, Wi-Fi, and a fifty-inch flat screen TV(Streaming Channels only). There is a comfy leather sofa and chairs for lounging. Light up a fire in the gas fireplace and relax on a cool Carolina Mountain evening. You will also find DVDs and literature about local attractions. The kitchen is fully equipped for light cooking and there is a dishwasher for quick cleanup. Meals are eaten at the dining table for six with views of the river, or out on the patio table while enjoying nature.

The main level also features two bedrooms and a nice hall bath with newly tiled shower. The master bedroom offers a cozy queen-size bed and flat screen TV with streaming channels. The second bedroom features a twin bed with trundle – great for kids. There are even board games for the whole family to play on those cool evenings or rainy days. The washer and dryer are also located on the main level.

Climb the stairs to the open loft area where you will find an office area with a magnificent view of the river for those that need to work while on vacation, and two twin beds with a half bath for additional sleeping space.
Outside on the oversized spacious deck, you will find a charcoal grill for preparing those fish you catch or a nice juicy steak. There’s even an outdoor sound system so you can listen to music while relaxing. A corn hole game is also provided for your enjoyment.

This tastefully decorated vacation home is filled with cabin décor to bring a true at-home mountain feel. It is located just one door down from Riverside Retreat-another large rental cabin, should you want to bring additional family to stay nearby.

Sorry – no smoking allowed inside. Pets are allowed with pet deposit.

Great location!
The location of this property was perfect for our needs! We spent the weekend hiking and exploring the outdoors - just what we were looking for. The location was amazing and right on the New River! The house was not as clean as I expected. Missing a few extras to make it a 5 star stay.

Amazing river view
The property was clean and comfortable and the view of the river from the porch was AMAZING. Cabin has great Wifi and cell phone reception, lots of clean towels and blankets. The shower head was a bit low for anyone over 6 feet tall, but there was lots of HOT water. The porch is large and great for enjoying the river view. Unfortunately the grill was unuseable. Overall we were very pleased and would recommend this property to others.

Nice quiet atmosphere!
Cozy home. Great backyard with plenty of running/playing room all the way down to the river. Home is very small but has a nice big deck. Driveway is very steep and parking is limited. 2 car max. Nice and quiet stay and will consider renting again.

Father's Day weekend getaway
When looking for a place to stay on the river this looked like the perfect place. Based on previous reveiws I reached out to property owner concerning cleanliness and the yard. They assured me they hired a new cleaning service and the grass was mowed twice a month. So I booked it and we did not regret it. The place is beautiful, clean and yard was mowed right on the river. They had a gated porch for the dogs to run. We grilled fished and played board games. We saw deer out in the ayrd everyday. My family really enjoyed it and we will definitely book this in the future.

Not Clean At All
When your paying this price you don't expect your stay to start off vaccuming the living room. When we arrived the living room floor was covered with white powder from a plastic dispenser which had fallen from a window ledge, yes things happen. But when you wake up the next day and find a rodent had eaten food left out on the counter and bread through the plastic bag above the cabinent you wonder is someone watching this place. An obvious mouse hole is in the up stairs bathroom though the lighting did not work in that room. Bulb must have just burned out when the canister fell. So each morning we were greeted by more rodent droppings through out kitchen and living room and I'd guess they reside somewhere near the kitchen sink based on the oder. Also the vent in the down stairs bathroom is so dust filled the fan blade can't even spin.... not what I expected for the hefty price paid.

Awesome view! This property is on a nice piece of land by the New River. The access road is rough to say the least. Home is clean and charming. Steep driveway. Better read the 12 page agreement....

Bad air quality and carelessness
I would have liked to give this trip a better review. We've stayed at many VRBO's and this is the 2nd bad review I've written. First, the price quoted on line and the price quoted by the management company were different. The process is cloudy, and when asking about it I felt as if they were dismissive. The actual total charge was less, but the management fee was excessive, plus two types of taxes, etc. . You do not get the lock box code until you arrive. They called days before our check in to ask if we could arrive at 5pm instead of 3pm. I explained we had originally asked for an early check in. I was told they would move things around so we could check in at 3. At 3:00 I called for the code as we were close and cell service is sketchy. I was told the cleaner was just finishing up but I could have the code anyway. We stopped for provisions allowing plenty of time to finish and arrived at 4:00. She was still there, we were finally able to get in just before 5. It was clean enough upon first entry. Then my husband found fishing lures on the ground where my dogs could have easily found them first. Who knows what would have happened then. How do you sweep, vacuum and clean the main room thoroughly and not notice a box of lures and loose lures on the floor by the tv? After a couple of hours in the house we started to develop sinus issues and headaches. I have asthma, my dog has severe mite allergies so I located the return air filter which I found located behind the sofa. The vent was thick with dark dust, I got the vacuum which was itself full of dirt and vacuumed the vent. I then opened it. It was BLACK. Not white not even grey, but BLACK. Wish I could post a photo. I called and left a message explaining I had issues. I was never called back. We spent the next couple of days being out of the cabin as much as possible. Once ready to check out, I called to let them know and mentioned I had issues. Explained what they were and that I was not happy about no call back. The woman in the office apologized for that. I also told her I had extensively filled out their questionnaire (which I also have photos of) and would hope to hear from them after they receive it. It's been over two weeks and I've not heard a thing. Very disappointing. I will not stay at a "managed" property again. They charge too much and don't manage things.
