Arena apartments stay
My family and I were very pleased with the layout, cleanliness and comfort of the apartment. The location is close to the heart of downtown, but probably most appropriate for those attending an event at the Grand Rapids Arena. The check-in process was arduous for me, arriving alone as a senior citizen. There was very little human contact, and information about how to actually get entry into the apartment was not available until one hour before the check-in time. At that time, a series of photographs showed where to pick up the keys, what the entry to the building looked like, the interior of the building,etc. But by that time I was quite anxious about the process. IMHO there was no reason not to share this information before that time, withholding only the code that enabled access to keys. Also, Mitten Housing could have provided more (or any) user friendliness in the process but did not. There was a stubborn insistence to provide information only via a series of text messages.

Great location and apartment
Spent a weekend here to celebrate our daughter’s college graduation. The apartment was exactly as pictured and in a great location. Walking distance to everything downtown - including restaurants, night life, etc. Check in was a bit bumpy in retrieving the keys, but the host responded immediately to assist us. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks!

Great property if you are attending a concert.
The property is excellent. The check-in process not ideal. Picking up the keys at another location was just not good. We did have a problem with the TV. The instructions were not exactly clear. Overall, it was a great property.

Great location but check in/out not the best
Great space Clean Walking to everything Only down side was check in (pick up keys off site) and having to move a car full of kids out of the parking ramp, find parking on the street, and run the parking pass back to the unit. That's the only reason it wasn't a five star.

Best location in GR. Apartment extremely clean and very comfortable. We had a sweet view and easy in-out privileges with the parking pass. Really nice to have the parking ramp attached to the apartment. We highly recommend the apartment and renting with the Mitten.

Our stay in Grand Rapids apartment was very pleasant. Apt. is as listed. Very clean, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms with good water pressure. Nice location, nice sunset views. One negative point would be getting the key from a different location.

This was such an amazing place to stay within walking distance to bars, great heating system for the winter. The only feedback I'd give is the shower in the front only gets lukenwarm and not hot, but besides that if I ever come out to MI again I'd stay in this same place!

Convenient and nice place to stay. Perfectly located in downtown GR near several restaurants and bars. The place itself was as described - clean with plenty of amenities for either a short term or long term stay. The hosts were very accommodating and responsive. The check-in and check-out process was very easy and smooth. All in all, I had a great stay and would recommend to family and friends.

I would recommend this property. The only negative is that the balcony was on the wrong side of the building. It faced the freeway (noisy) and a large construction project which wasn't attractive. "Views of Grand Rapids" was not accurate in my opinion.

Very Nice! and within walking distance of everything!
We stayed in 4 units over Labor Day weekend for our son's wedding and couldn't be happier with our stay and experience in downtown Grand Rapids! I'm glad I read through other postings by other renters so I was sort of aware about the "key chase" ( keys are actually located off/away from the complex at a "key house" which is a couple of blocks away from the complex..but since we were driving in to begin with, we just stopped at the key house first! Not a big deal actually!) The other issue I needed to "come to grips" with, that another renter mentioned, was that communications were strictly by email/text/or the VRBO app..no "human voice" contact whatsoever ( unless you called the listed phone number you got a human voice answering machine! ;-) Once I accepted that means of communication( they actually were pretty quick to respond with the other methods) ...things went pretty smoothly! Our son's wedding was at The Cathedral of St. Andrew and the reception was at the Grand Rapids Art Museum and this complex was right in between the two! Couldn't ask for a better location and both locations were within blocks/walking distance! The parking passes that came along with the rentals for the parking ramp that adjoins this property added to our peace of mind and security! ( directions/ "you tube" videos! )on how the parking passes/security works within the complex was very helpful indeed! ;-) All the units were fully stocked with what we needed or wanted as far as any cooking "in house" in-between rehearsal dinner and whatnot and was a nice "retreat" from the " hustle and bustle" of everything else! This unit also has a balcony which was nice! The "proprietors" of these units ( Mitten Housing) were very receptive to anything that came up and were very responsive to any of our needs ( again...getting used to texting only! ;-) Would definitely recommend any of these units and this location and would rent again at this location "in a heartbeat"! Thank you again for a very pleasant and memorable experience !

Property was very nice and was a great location for downtown activities. Management company was great with communication and questions. Even bought a new pack and play for our infant. Only issue for us was that we were traveling with an infant and there was loud live music nearby on a Friday night which made an early bedtime a bit difficult.
