Exceptional

This was our first time staying at this location-though we have vacationed in Grand Marais in the fall for over 20 years. We had a great experience here. The house was comfortable, clean, close to the public beach, and close to town. It had all the essentials-and more-to make our stay very enjoyable.
Cute little house and comfortable place to stay while in Grand Marais. The only complaint I have is that the toilet is too low to comfortably accommodate an elderly person with some mobility issues. However, I would consider staying there again.
Gus and Jill’s home was clean, comfortable and supplied with everything we needed to enjoy our visit to Grand Marais. It is located close to the public beach access and all the places we love to visit each year. Check-in/out information was clear and we had no issues whatsoever. We highly recommend this home.

Nice place and in a great location
The house was well equipped, clean and the location was perfect. We had a create time there with our 5 year old son.
Very nice home and location. Love all the GM pictures.
Enjoyed your beautiful place. The only thing was working the TV. Not use to firestick. Otherwise great stay. Beds were very comfy and place was clean. Would recommend to friends and family. Thanks again for our stay.
The home was very clean and equipt with everything you might need! Great location. Only minutes away from main street. Jill the owner was very quick to respond to any questions we had! Definitely would stay again!

It was an amazing cottage.
The stay here was great. Everything was clean and tidy. Great view from the back deck.
We had another great year at Gus and Jill’s. Jill reached out appropriately and responded quickly, the location is perfect, and we can have our dog with us. We love their place.
The home is perfect for me, my mom and my dog and we've rented twice before when we come to Grand Marais for an annual family reunion. Already booked for 2024 too!
4th year renting from Jill and Gus. We love the location and the house is perfect for my mom, my dog and me as we make our annual visit to GM for a family reunion. The deck is newly painted and the living room has a new sectional couch that is very comfortable. Already booked for 2025!
Felt like home and we didn't need a thing with the exception of food. Nothing to complain about, not even the church bells ringing! We would definitely stay again!
This house is in a great location in Grand Marais. You can walk to the beach and main street where all the restaurants, shopping, and ice cream shops are. It also is in a quiet neighborhood. The home itself does need some updating, but it was fine for our stay.

FABULOUS
Everything from the house to the homeowners to the town to the diner just everything about our week was fabulous
We had the most amazing time. This place was fully stocked with everything we needed for a perfect vacation. It was the best get away. Jill responded almost immediately to any questions I had. The short distance to lake Superior was awesome. We went to the beach everyday and found so many cool looking rocks. There is a small little town that your only a couple min away from. There's so many fun gift shops. There's also two grocery stores and a hardware store which we loved!

great place to stay
The house was perfect for my wife and me. The property was in good shape and had everything that we needed. It was in a quiet area but plenty close enough to walk to the towns diner and two bar/restaurants. Going in September, we did not run into a lot of tourists. If you are looking for a peaceful vacation, this is a great time to go. The location is close enough to the pictured rocks sea shore and plenty of trails. There is a lot to see in the UP. Plan on doing some driving if you want to see it all. This will apply to anywhere you stay. I suggest seeing as much as you can nearby and planning another trip to see more. I know I will be back.
This was a very comfortable home for my husband, our dog and myself. Grand Marais is a beautiful UP community and centrally located to access other major UP sites. And has a view of the bay. The back yard was spacious and private during our stay and the back deck was perfect for outdoor dining. We tend to primarily cook our own meals during vacation, so the kitchen as key. While there was an adjustment for the dim lighting, all appliances worked great, and so did the grill!
From this location we were able to make day trips to Pictured Rocks in Munising, visit Tahquamenon River/Falls, and did an extended road trip up to Copper Bay and the Mineral Muesum at Michigan Tech.
The local beaches offered gorgeous sunsets, beautiful rocks and plenty of sandy beaches.
The fact that the property has a few items of work in progress, did not dampen our experience and we were so happy to be able to take our fur baby with us.
Oh, the washer/dryer available allowed our 2 week stay to minimize packing requirements and keep on top of our dog's towels and blankets, LOL.
Check out Gus & Jill's property for a couple or small family. We did not use the loft area at all since it was only the two of us.
We will look at booking this again for future trips.
This cozy, small home is conveniently located a block from the West Bay, a couple of blocks from Grand Marais itself, and about four blocks from the main lake. The home is a one-bedroom with a loft and has all of the amenities needed for a one-week stay. The beds were particularly comfortable. The only downside was the lighting. On cloudy days the home would have benefited with a reading light near the sofa, a strong light over the dining room table and a similar light over the sink.
What a fantastic week we had, the place was absolutely perfect! It was a perfect location, a very short walk from the downtown area but also nestled away on a private street under the trees. There was plenty of room and the entire place was well stocked and clean. We would not hesitate to stay there again the next time we are up in Grand Marais!
Nice little house in a lovely quiet neighborhood with peeks of the bay. Easy walking all through town and to the beach.
Grand Marais is unbeatable for a respite from the summer heat of the Mid-West.
One night we arose and went outside to star watch. The Milky Way, Jupiter, Saturn and Mars were visible. :)
Lovely.
Met a nice couple from Minneapolis who were spending a few days mooring their sailboat at the village marina. They had sailed from the Apostle Islands to Drummond Island and were returning to port via Isle Royale.
A very relaxing time in GM.
Great place to get away from the real world. Yet there are the convinces of home. Place was clean and well maintained. Great location in the middle for our activities of Crisp Light House to Pictured Rocks.
We have been renting in Grand Marais for over 30 years. This was a nice place and a good deal. Great location to get to bay or Agate Beach or downtown. Lots of things you need at the house (e.g. can openers, foil, tissue), toys, games, and books. Probably the only thing that bothered us was the incessant church music, not just Sunday and not just bells on the hour (which would even be nice), actual hymns bursting from the church. Nothing the hosts can do anything about and was a small thing overall. We would definitely stay there again. Jill was responsive and pleasant. Loved the deck and being close to town.
