Great Deck with Gas Grill, Outdoor Firepit, 2 Blocks From Main Street

Welcome to the Grand Lake Gem, by Mountain Vacation Lodging. This cute, cozy cabin is truly a gem. Found just 2 blocks from the center of downtown, and only 3 blocks from the lake, the location could not be much better! Even though you will be very close to downtown shops and restaurants, when you're relaxing inside or outside this home, you will feel miles away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The home is surrounded by aspen trees in a quieter part of downtown. There is no need to fight traffic or search for parking. You'll have two parking spaces at the home, and from this home you can easily walk anywhere, including to the shores of Grand Lake itself. Also, this cabin is not some dated "rustic" cabin, like so many of other the lodging options found in the Grand Lake area. Instead, this is an updated and stylish cabin with modern finishes, furniture, appliances and fixtures. The living and dining room combine to offer a nicely sized space for smaller groups to gather after a long day full of adventure. The kitchen has beautiful granite counters, stainless steel appliances, a white farmhouse sink, and is fully equipped for those mornings or nights when you don't want to eat out. The bathroom matches the kitchen in quality, with its new tile, pedestal sink, and a lovely claw foot tub. The front porch is a nice place to relax with a coffee, and the front yard is large enough for ladder-ball or other games. Out back, there is a larger deck that accommodates an outdoor dining set and gas BBQ grill. Just off the back deck is a nice fire pit that is surrounded by boulders, seating, and aspen trees. Make sure to bring your marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate! Couples or young families will love this little retreat in the heart of Grand Lake. Contact us with any questions or to reserve.

Memorial Day Weekend
This was my first ever VRBO rental. My girlfriend and I stayed 3 nights and absolutely loved it. The cabin is in a perfect location. We were within walking distance of the main street in town but it still felt very secluded. (PS: try the ice cream shop) I was shocked by the amenities these hosts provided. It shows how much they care and it was much appreciated. The fire pit in the backyard and the grill was a huge plus! It was such a cute and cozy cabin. Everything was well maintained and clean. 10/10 would recommend and I hope to return in the near future.

other than woodstove being inoperable, was as described. fyi--at shoulder season be aware that baseboard heaters need to be activated by throwing circuit breaker in electrical panel outside on back deck. cozy and cute; claw foot tub only fits one. very comfortable bed.

Cute Cozy Mountain Cottage
My wife and I spent a four day weekend in September for our anniversary. It was wonderful. We loved the interior decorating (country cottage more than mountain cabin perhaps and tastefully done). The location is perfect. We could walk to shops and restaurants in town within minutes but the property still has a remote woodsy feel to it. The photos don't show it but there's a neighboring cabin about 20 feet away (to the right of the front porch with the flags on it). It wasn't a problem for us because it was unoccupied most of the time we were there. People arrived as we were leaving but they were very nice. (Know that in the town of Grand Lake homes are typically located close to each other but you won't be bothered much by it.) Photos show a wood stove but it was inoperable while we were there. We would have used it but didn't choose this property based on that so we didn't mind. There were many more appliances and supplies than expected (ziplock bags, paper plates, napkins, blender, etc.) which was nice. Kudos to the owner/caretaker for their consideration! There's a fire pit in the back yard that we enjoyed using one night and plenty of firewood, although we wished we could have temporarily disabled the motion controlled security flood light that came on whenever we moved about. It wasn't a big deal though. Overall we give this a top score and would likely use it again.

Getting away from Texas heat & see changing of leaves!
Saw our friends recent trip to Grand Lake, Co and knew we had to go!!! Wanted to stay close to town so we could walk and shop! We took three trips into RMNP Andhiked trails there and went back at dawn to see some elk and moose! Super close drive to RMNP! The home itself has every item you could possibly need! Bed was comfortable! Played yatzee on patio! Make sure you wear appropriate shoes as you are on a gravel dirt road. Shower is not for larger adults (my husband is 6’2 205 ) and was ok! If I had to complain I would say there was not a tv in bed room. We just opened the sofa bed in living room and slept in living room! 😀I would hands down recommend this property!!! Fantastic!!!! We love the antiques and nostalgia of the old home!! ❤️

Great place for small family! Amazing location!
My husband, 2 year old, and I live elsewhere in Colorado and wanted a quick weekend getaway for Grand Lake. This was the perfect place for us! The location is great, just a couple of blocks off Main Street. Didn’t need the car the whole weekend. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The fire pit in the back is on a little incline but was great to sit around and there was a lot of firewood to use. The “2nd bedroom” is very small but worked well for us. Just big enough for the twin bed in the room and to fit a pack and play between the twin bed and the wall. The bed was very comfortable. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay here again!

Cute, clean, and close to town
We loved the location of this house on the edge of Grand Lake- it was easy to drive in and out of town, and even easier to walk down the hill to the main street and just a couple more blocks to the lake. As others have mentioned, the 2nd bedroom is tiny, so we put the kids' clothes, books, and toys in there, and they slept together on the pull-out couch. It worked great for us. We'd definitely stay here again.

Grand Lake is a special place for me and has been a part of my family for over 100 years. The cabin was the perfect size for the three of us and was tucked away amongst the Aspen trees. It’s right in the middle of town so the location is ideal to walk anywhere in town which was really nice. We had an amazing time and will be a trip my family and I will cherish forever. Thank you!

Great location ....Some Friendly Suggestions
On the plus side: - we really liked the location being so close to town - the cottage is nicely updated - the owner has good taste and has it nicely decorated - one morning we saw two moose playing in the neighbors yard sprinkler across from the cottage! - lots of videos to play on the DVR - the bed in the main bedroom is very comfortable - the couch pull out bed in the living area is pretty comfortable for a pull out - nice front and back porches to sit and relax On the “friendly suggestions” side of the ledger: - more accurately represent the size of the second bedroom. The picture of the second bed on the VRBO site makes it look like it is in a room of some size. That bed is actually in a room I would consider more the size of a small walk-in closet, which is basically what my wife used it for. - Make sure the internet is working for those of us who need it for work - put a hair dryer in the cottage - put an old fashion ice tray in the freezer to make ice - the old gas stove is really cool looking, but does not serve a purpose in an area which has limited space. Maybe consider putting a dishwasher there? - put a smart tv in the cottage for live tv viewing - more glasses, I drank red wine out of a glass mug. This is a really nice cottage which could be even nicer and more comfortable to stay in with some mostly minor enhancements.

The little cabin was perfect for us. It was two blocks from downtown and 3 from the lake. It was in town but hidden behind trees so it felt secluded. The aspens around the house were changing colors before our eyes. It was clean and comfortable. A perfect place to fit our needs at this time.

The owner was extremely responsive to our concerns. We knew there is no AC but of the 9 windows only 2 have screens. With lights on in the evening bugs attracted to lights came into the cabin. The location is great for walking to the town attractions.

This cabin is very clean with everything you need. The space is very tiny, but most fixtures are new and the space is efficient. Within walking distance of everything in Grand Lake. Nice deck and grill! You do have a big step up to get into the bathtub/shower.
