Townhomes Near the Bay - #1

Summary:
Southern Oaks Townhomes is located in the quaint town of Grand Bay, AL. At this newly renovated vacation rental, you’re only 30 minutes away from the white sandy beaches of Dauphin Island, 25 minutes south of the city of Mobile and 40 minutes east of Biloxi, MS. (If you have time, take a day trip to New Orleans, which is only an hour and 45 minutes away!).

We hope you enjoy your stay at Southern Oaks Townhomes and are able to get out and explore the beautiful Gulf Coast during your visit!

The Space:
In 2018, this 8-unit building underwent a complete renovation where it was stripped down to its bones and redesigned with modern finishes and decor. Each townhome was fully refinished with new stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and a fully stocked kitchen. Two bright and airy bedrooms and one full bathroom are located upstairs, and one half bathroom is located off the kitchen downstairs.

A small patio off the back of the townhome gives guests a nice outdoor space to grill, lounge and enjoy the spacious backyard.

Guest Access:
This unit is located on the far left end of the apartment building. Guests have access to a private patio area with a grill, outdoor table and chairs. Parking is available directly in front of the unit. There is plenty of green space to walk your leashed dog in the front of the building and in the backyard.

The Neighborhood:
Grand Bay, known as the watermelon capital of Alabama, is a small farming community centrally located to many popular Gulf Coast attractions. The town is conveniently located off of I-10, Alabama's main interstate that runs parallel to the the Gulf Coast.

Dauphin Island is a small island situated just off the the beautiful Alabama Gulf Coast. Tourists and families flock to Dauphin Island year-round for the miles of beaches, the fresh Gulf Coast seafood and world-class deep sea fishing.

Mobile hosts many events throughout the year, but none compare to Mardi Gras celebrated every spring when tens of thousands join together all around the city for parades and other fun events surrounding this Southern celebration.

Downtown Mobile has many different attractions that may interest families and tourists, including the USS Alabama battleship docked in Mobile Bay, and Fort Conde, an 18th century fort built by the French during the colonial period. (Both are available to tour.) While you’re exploring downtown, be sure to take a stroll down Dauphin Street to see the old historic buildings of Mobile, many of which are now restaurants featuring the finest Gulf Coast cuisine.

Getting Around:
There is no public transportation in Grand Bay, but the townhomes are located located less than a two-minute drive to grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations.

Other Things to Note:
Pets: No cats allowed! Dogs are allowed with a $75 fee per dog. There is a maximum of two dogs no larger than 75 pounds each. Dogs who are categorized as "dangerous" or "aggressive" according the ASPCA are not allowed. Please let us know if you're bringing your furry friend so we can add the appropriate pet fee, as the Airbnb website does not have a spot for us to add the fee. The fee will be added to the cost of your nightly charge. Please keep dogs on a leash when outdoors, and clean up after your pets. You could face penalty if you bring a dog without notification. We do not accept cats .

Noise: This is an eight-unit apartment building. This unit is located on the end of the building but you do share one wall with the neighboring unit. Therefore you could experience noise from next door.

Interaction with Guests:
If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact our host, Karin Murphy, who will assist you with any needs during your stay. Her contact information will be provided upon check-in.

Nice place great weather for this snowbird
The unit was very clean and bright. The yard space was fenced on three sides good for the dogs there was a leash rule in place for the complex and every one did keep their pets on a leash. But the dogs in the neighborhood were not on leashes and they were big dogs (German Shepards, rotaries,) and they didn’t appear to be friendly so dog walks were always short and close to the door. No one but me seemed to feel the need to pick up after there pets so it was like a minefield where you walked your dogs the owners have no control over the neighborhood dogs but they at least could have they clients be compelled to pickup after their pets.other than that it was a very comfort spot to ride out the winter Would stay again .
