Summary:
This charming home is located in the quaint town of Grand Bay, AL. We are down a rocky, dirt road on 200 acres of land. Across the street is the Hill and Brooks (Coffee and Teas) 5000 acre ranch. This is country living at its finest. Right next to the house you have an 8 acre pond fully stocked with Bass, walk next door and enjoy the country fishing!
You’re only 45 mins away from the white sandy beaches of Dauphin Island, 20 mins to Mobile regional airport and 40 minutes east of Biloxi, MS.
The Space:
In 2022, this traditional 4 bedroom, 2 bath home underwent a complete renovation where it was redesigned with stylish finishes and decor. The home was fully refinished with new stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and a fully stocked kitchen. Four large bright and airy bedrooms and two full bathrooms give guests ample room to enjoy their stay.
A small patio off the back gives a nice outdoor space to lounge. A small patio off the front of the house overlooks the 300 acre cotton field across the street.
Guest Access:
Guest access: Guests have access to a private patio area and lounge area. Parking is available directly in front of the home in the grass. This house sits on 2 acres of grass for your dogs to play.
Please note: We are down a 1/2 mile rocky, dirt private drive. We keep up with the road privately but there are some pot holes along the way, drive slowly down the drive.
The Neighborhood:
Grand Bay, known as the watermelon capital of Alabama, is a small farming community centrally located to many popular Gulf Coast attractions. It is home to the Grand Bay Watermelon Festival held every year on The Fourth of July when the town gathers to celebrate the South’s best-tasting watermelon. Fresh Grand Bay-grown watermelon is served by the slice, and the Watermelon Festival Queen is crowned during the beauty contest. There is also live music and small fair rides for the kids.
There are several local eateries in Grand Bay, including hometown favorite Sams Super Burger that serves American classics, and Kitchen of the Sea, the local food truck that’s often parked in the center of town serving the freshest seafood.
Dauphin Island is a small island situated just off the the beautiful Alabama Gulf Coast. Tourists, snow birds and families flock to Dauphin Island year-round for the miles of beaches, the fresh Gulf Coast seafood and world-class deep sea fishing. the Dauphin Island Fishing Rodeo during July brings more than 75,000 spectators to the island for a weekend of fun and sports fishing.
Mobile hosts many events throughout the year, but none compare to Mardi Gras celebrated every spring when tens of thousands join together all around the city for parades, masquerade balls and other fun events surrounding this Southern celebration.
Downtown Mobile has many different attractions that may interest families and tourists, including the USS Alabama battleship docked in Mobile Bay, and Fort Conde, an 18th century fort built by the French during the colonial period. (Both are available to tour.) While you’re exploring downtown, be sure to take a stroll down Dauphin Street to see the old historic buildings of Mobile, many of which are now restaurants featuring the finest Gulf Coast cuisine.
Getting Around:
There is no public transportation in Grand Bay, but the home is located less than a five-minute drive to grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations.
Other Things to Note:
Pets: No cats allowed! Dogs are allowed with a $75 fee per dog. There is a maximum of two dogs no larger than 75 pounds each. Dogs who are categorized as "dangerous" or "aggressive" according the ASPCA are not allowed. Please let us know if you're bringing your furry friend so we can add the appropriate pet fee, as the Airbnb website does not have a spot for us to add the fee. The fee will be added to the cost of your nightly charge. Guests must keep dogs on a leash when outdoors, and clean up after their pets. Guests who bring a dog without notification could face penalty.
