CHARMING HOUSE IN THE ARABE ALBAICIN NEIGHBORHOOD (MAGNIFICENT VIEWS TO THE ALHAMBRA)

Large house (150 m2), ideal for 4 people, with central heating. It has a large kitchen (6 people can eat comfortably in it), fully equipped (fridge, stove, oven, full kitchen utensils, washing machine, etc. It has two bedrooms with double beds, a bathroom and a bathroom, large living room (more than 30 m2) with sound chain. There is internet connection. It has a large terrace overlooking the Alhambra, the mountains and the neighborhood in 360 degrees, without visual obstacles. Optionally you can have a baby cot. It is a traditional house, with stairs, so it is NOT APPROPRIATE FOR PEOPLE WITH DIFFICULTIES IN THEIR MOBILITY
There is no passage of cars
The Albaycín is a neighborhood of great personality, which gives one of the greatest hallmarks of Granada. Located on a hillside facing the Alhambra. It is configured by a network of narrow and labyrinthine streets where it is easy and suggestive to walk; streets that overlook small hidden squares, full of atmosphere.
The house is decorated in the old style, with wooden ceilings.
Due to its special characteristics, only babies and children from 12 years old are allowed

ACCESS: taxi and bus.
The Albaicin is a neighborhood of Arab origin, so there are narrow streets with difficult access to cars.
I recommend leaving the vehicle in a car park in the center of Granada and getting in a taxi (the first time).
IT IS NOT ALLOWED TO ENTER WITH THE CAR TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND THERE ARE FEW PARKING OUTSIDE THE NEIGHBORHOOD. IT IS RECOMMENDED TO PARK IN PARKS IN THE CENTER OF THE CITY AND UP IN TAXI
There is good bus service.
To find parking, we explain where the nearest one is and how to get there (we provide the coordinates).
Coordinates: 37. 180138, -3. 592899
The neighborhood has many pedestrian streets, so it is advisable to move inside walking

TIPS TO SEE: Tourist visit to Granada and the Alhambra, the Albaicín, Sacromonte (with its caves-dwelling), bars and restaurants in the city.
Sierra Nevada (skiing, hiking) at 30 Km, Beaches at 60 Km.
It has very interesting surroundings: cities like Guadix (famous for its cave-dwellings), Loja Las Alpujarras from Granada, the Lecrin Valley. And a little further, Cordoba, Jaen and Seville.
Granada is typical for its 'tapas' in bars.
And if you like flamenco, you can enjoy its 'zambras', an approach to granaino flamenco
Proposals of the owner:
• Visit the Alhambra (it is recommended to book in advance), it is possible to make a night visit.
• View of the nearby Sacromonte neighborhood with assistance to flamenco shows and visits to cave-dwellings
• Visit to Sierra Nevada, 35 km away
• Visit to the Alpujarra, traditional mountain rural landscape
• Visit to the Granada coast (Mediterranean) 65 km by highway

Authentic stay in the Albaicin
Our 2 week stay in Victoria's house in the old quarter of Granada was amazing. The view from the living room window and roof-top deck of the Alhambra was fantastic. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals, and the beds were very comfortable. The house was conveniently located to explore the Alhambra, Sacramonte and downtown.

A wonderful house to experience Granada
Like the neighbourhood of Albaicin and the city of Granada, this house has many wonderful layers and textures to enjoy. From the dark wood and tile of the kitchen, up through the atrium to the bedrooms and sun-filled salon to the brilliant rooftop, each stair and turn reveals a new sight or object of interest. The views of the Alhambra, Sacromonte, neighbourhood and city are varied and breathtaking on a bright day. The house is well equipped and lovingly decorated. (It even has a sharpening stone for the kitchen knives). The area is quiet and restricted from vehicles but very close to attractions, restaurants and services. The hosts were very helpful in meeting us and providing information and assistance that enhanced our stay. We would gladly stay here again.

Wonderful house
We stayed here for a month in February and had a great time. The house is in the old quarter of Granada and within walking distance of the town centre and other tourist attractions - the main one being the Alhambra which you can admire from the terrace of this house and from the lounge windows. Victoria says in the description that you cannot approach the house other than on foot, we would recommend that any luggage you bring you can carry without too much trouble as the cobbled streets in this area are not good for suitcases with wheels!

Fantastic place!
Such a perfect home to stay in Granada! The view of the Alhambra was amazing from the rooftop patio! You can also see the Sierra Nevadas, and a great deal of both the old city and the new. The house was super clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Loved the many antique items displayed throughout as well as the other decor. It’s a perfect location for walking to see everything. We were all over Albaicin, up to Sacramonte, and down into the city center! Victoria was an awesome host! She met us and showed us the house as well as checked on us throughout our stay. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Granada!!

Super central, clean, historic, nice ambience and outrageous views of the Sierra Nevada and the Alha
This house is very central to sites in the Albaicin. All major historic sites are walking distance. Even the Sacromonte caves are just a 20-minute walk from the house. As with all homes in this area, be ready for lots of sloped streets and stairs. The streets are narrow and paved with cobblestones, so bring sturdy walking shoes. I saw a couple of women walking in heels and they looked absolutely miserable, especially on the downhill stretches. The house is split up over several floors, so there will be stairs to climb. The ground floor has a well-equipped kitchen, 1/2 bath, and washing machine. The next floor up has 2 bedrooms, the main bath and an indoor sitting area with nice views of the Alhambra. The third floor has a private area that it closed off, and the fourth floor is a lovely rooftop patio. The rooftop patio, with its fantastic views of the Alhambra is what sets this house apart. It did get a bit tiresome having so many stairs in the house, but that is the nature of staying in an old house in a historic area. We LOVED to patio and used it to have most of our meals. There are several nice touches throughout the house and the beds were super comfy. We slept soundly most nights. The only exception was the night the garbage was collected. The garbage crews use special mini-trucks to enter the Albaicin and make quite a racket as they travel through the streets and navigate the various steps and slopes.

lovely stay
The house is lovely in the charming historic district of Albaicin. The roof terrace has amazing views of the Alhambra and all Granada, it's a beautiful spot, well worth the many stairs! The beds are really comfy, the kitchen is well stocked with all the equipment you could need. This is a lovely base for a holiday in Granada, but you do need to be fit, as a short walk can involve lots of climbing hills. Victoria is a welcoming host and answered any questions promptly before the visit. She was away during our visit and her friend kindly met us and walked us to the house from the meeting point. The house is well positioned for touring the Albaicin district, but please be aware there are lots of hills and steep steps here, and pack your suitcase light. The walk into the centre is downhill and takes 10-15 minutes, there are plenty of bars and restaurants locally and throughout the city, beautiful squares to stop and watch the world go by and some amazing architecture. You will need to book Alhambra tickets well in advance, only guided tours were available 10 weeks in advance, but we were so glad we had an excellent guide and were amazed by the beauty of Alhambra and Generalife. We had a wonderful 4 night stay during Holy Week, but if you visit at the same time, be aware that the roads close early most evenings for the processions and you will have to walk back up the hill as there is no transport. Thank you Victoria for letting us stay in your home for a wonderful stay, we hope to return to Granada soon

Most magnificent patio in the world!
Loved staying in Victoria's house in the Albaicin! It was great to have the whole house to ourselves. Victoria met us and showed us around as planned, and then the house was ours to enjoy, and enjoy we did! We had breakfasts and afternoon cheese fests and late evening wine and cheese on the upper patio with the Alhambra all lit up! It was absolutely gorgeous! Everything was nice...the shower, the kitchen, the bedrooms. Plenty of room for a family, even though we were just 2 people! It was convenient to the Alhambra and the old Arab neighborhood and other Granada sites. We were close to a flamenco restaurant called Jardines de Zoraya that was super fun to watch! The garden restaurant there is also really nice to relax in in the afternoon. Thanks, Victoria, for your hospitality!

The views from the terrace!
What a charming home in the ancient Albaicín neighborhood - but the view of the Alhambra from the terrace steals the show! Whether for breakfast, or wine at sunset, or for one more stop before bed to see the Alhambra in its glory of lights, the home’s terrace offers unbelievable vistas! The neighborhood has some interesting and delicious restaurants - our favorite El Trillo, and such an easy walk home. The house is quiet and 10-15 minute distance to the main tourist spots. Be sure get your tickets to tour The Alhambra in advance of your trip- and getting the privately guided tour from a company is well worth the investment. As others have pointed out, the home is in a historic neighborhood, and you must pull your luggage through steep stone passageways - you can not drive to the door. The house is spread on several floors with a roof top terrace so keep that in mind if mobility is a concern. The views compensate for the challenges. Victoria is a friendly and helpful host! Thank you for the warm welcome to Granada!

Beautiful home with fantastic views!
To experience living in a Grenadian residents home was a wonderful experience. The home itself is very old and has several layers to it culminating in the rooftop deck which has magnificent views of the Alhambra and surrounds. We felt like locals .....particularly when we needed to get the neighbour to help us with a lock issue! The house is very very comfortable. Very hard to fault as a place to stay. We were close to restaurants, small grocers and the city centre for shopping. We visited the Alhambra on a private tour ( highly recommend) one day and the next day we took a bus to the beach. Each day it was lovely to come home, grab a drink and head to somewhere comfy to relax. The kitchen was complete and had many of the essentials for a short visit. Thanks Victoria......we had a fabulous time and really enjoyed your home! 😊

Gorgeous Andaluz house in the heart of it all
Gorgeous quirky house in Albaicin set over 4 floors (including the fabulous roof terrace with the best view of Alhambra). Within walking distance to town and Sacromonte (old gypsy quarter) and enjoying a lovely position with an unrivalled view of not only the palace but the environs of Granada. I could have stayed here for a very long time. Everything you could want can be found in the house, the kitchen is well-stocked to prepare your own food and the beds are very comfy. The photos do not do the property justice, you will not be disappointed. Victoria is lovely, very accommodating and knowledgeable. We were able to contact at any point during our stay with any queries. We walked everywhere and wouldn't hesitate in recommending this property. Enjoy!!

Enchanting, beautful, buzzing, yet laid back city
The property was eclectic, charming and lovely. It was spotlessly clean and situated in a lovely part of Albaicin. My wife and I came to Granada to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and it was certainly a time to remember. We were met by charming friends of the owner who showed us round the home. The rooms are lovely and cool at all times of the day. The real bonus was the rooftop terrace. The uninterrupted views of the Alhambra were breath taking and we could never tire of the view, especially looking towards it in different light/times of the Albaicain was buzzing but it was also very relaxing and we certainly slept well. It was quite good fun sat on the roof terrace listening to the different walking tours and watching people go about their lives. No traffic ! We walked all over Granada, there is a very efficient and cost effective public transport, but we saw so much more by doing it on foot. We went up and down into Granada numerous times in our stay and found different routes back up to the house. Our legs certainly felt the strain! The Alhambra is a must and found the guided tour we had pre booked really good as it gives you the full history. It does need more than one visit to see all of it. The Royal chapel and cathedral are absolutely stunning and take your breath away. The convent of St Jeronimo was even more impressive. The cafes and restaurants are of really good quality, very reasonable prices and the staff extremely friendly and efficient. We felt very welcome wherever we went. Granada is such a lovely city, so nice not to be bothered by street hawkers and the like (except for ladies with Rosemary outside the cathedral and the shoe shine man we must have told "No" quite a few times). A must is also the flamenco night at La Planteria. Its only a couple of hundred yards from the house. It is only open on Thursdays and if you haven't pre-booked then you cant get it. I booked by email before the visit. Look it up on the web. It was a fantastic evening, the flamenco was an experience to remember. Not touristy as some are if you venture into Granada of Socremento. This show will fascinate you, the music, the singing and the dancing had everyone in awe. We will definitely visit Granada again and would try to book the same lovely house again. We would recommend this as a must see city for culture lovers Steve & Lesley Thompson

Exceeded my expectations - a fantastic place!
This triplex house is situated right in the Albaycin - one of the most ancient and historic parts of the city. The house itself is beautifully furnished and quintessentially authentic to the charms of the region and the style. It was cool, spacious and beautifully maintained. The best part is the deck - a huge, planted terrace overlooking the Alhambra and all the surrounds, with birds singing and musicians strumming below. Victoria was very helpful and responsive and because she was out of town when I arrived, had a friend meet me to greet and show me around the house. Extremely receptive to questions and very friendly. If you are looking for beauty and regional authenticity with a gorgeous view of the city, this is the place for you. Be aware that this part of town is steep and requires walking, so it's for those who love to travel by foot. But that is really Granada as a whole. Thanks Victoria for a remarkable experience.
