Cosy Countryside Cottage

Self contained one bedroom cottage in quiet countryside with plenty of walks and a close local village pub.

Cottage offers kitchen with a fridge which has a small integral freezer compartment, dishwasher, washing machine, cooking accessories, tea & coffee, dining table & chairs for upto four (additional guests carry an additional fee). Living area with plenty of comfortable seating & TV.

Bedroom has one king sized bed with space for additional single bed (which we can provide) and/or space for a cot to allow for children (cots are not provided) this is why we detail the cottage as sleeping 4 people, 2 adults plus 2 children depending on age. A spacious bathroom offers walk in shower & separate bath. We provide towels for humans but we don’t provide towels and blankets for animals.

Parking is available on site for one vehicle. Our property and grounds are non smoking throughout. Please note the cottage is in our garden which our dog uses, she is very friendly and welcoming. If you would like to sit with the cottage door open we recommend keeping the bottom section closed and the top half open, otherwise you may find her sitting on the sofa . . . . if you would like to bring your animal/s please drop us a message in advance of booking so we can clarify this would work for you and for us.

Close proximity to the M62 allowing easy access to surrounding Yorkshire towns and villages hosting a variety of outdoor experiences, tea rooms, garden centres and much much more.

Located on the South Bank of the River Ouse approx. 3’miles from Goole town which has various shops, supermarkets, canal walks and does offer the closest train station for travelling to other areas.

Centrally located for easy access to a variety of towns including Hull / Lincoln / York / Leeds / Sheffield. Selby Market Town is around a 30’minute drive and offers a Medieval Abbey along with plenty of shops and restaurants.

There is also a regular bus which runs from Goole to Scunthorpe and passes through Reedness.

Peaceful Getaway
This was a lovely cottage for our Christmas break, perfect for 2 adults and a dog. Maintained to a high standard and catered for all our needs. We'd like to return in Spring/Summer to further explore the area. Owners were very helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome. Little touches like xmas gifts for us and our dog were much appreciated. Thank you Lucy, Chris and Molly dog.

Perfect cozy getaway
Everything was perfect for a cozy few days to just chill and relax. We particularly enjoyed the underfloor heating and the hosts were lovely, leaving us homemade jam and homemade fruit juices. We very much enjoyed our stay

Not as good as expected
Overall the cottage was clean and tidy, however it lacked a few facilities. In the kitchen there was not enough cutlery or glasses. Out of date cooking oil spray (Sept 2022) in the cupboard and the salt & pepper were not usable. The washing machine did not have a dryer as far as we could see. Blunt kitchen knives and overall lack of cooking aids. The bedroom had a pretty unusable wardrobe, no dressing table or full length mirror. Cleaning products in the bathroom and a toilet brush were lacking. A suggestion to fence part of the garden for the sole use of the cottage would prevent the dog from doing ‘its business’ outside the front door which occurred one morning. Disappointed with the area.

Mini break
Had a fantastic short stay, could have stayed much longer. Awesome cottage, roomy with lovely furnishings. Very well equipped with everything and more that you could need. The garden location is picturesque. Lovely walks close by for our dog, along the river or through the village and easy walking distance to the local pub. Hosts are very welcoming. Great location for exploring the surrounding area. Don't miss the homemade jam, its lush.

A lovely clean and tidy cottage with all you need for a great self-catered break. We explored the local village and further afield to find a great pub, good walks and RSPB Blacktoft.

Peaceful and cosy cottage in excellent location
A charming, peaceful and cosy cottage in rural location. This is a great choice if you wish to visit North and East Yorkshire or North Lincolnshire. Motorways are easily accessible for a day exploring but at the end of it you can relax in a truly tranquil area. Perfect for couples or indeed a solo traveller.

I took my two grown up daughters plus Luna the dog away for a few days. Came across this cottage as it worked it with our dates and we couldn't have been much happier. Great hosts and very good jam makers!!!! Very comfortable, Molly the dog made us very welcome and had a wonderful few days visiting Humber Bridge Country Park, RSPB Reserve locally and York evening boat cruise, Would definitely visit again.

Lovely cottage in a fabulous little village
The cottage was lovely, equipped with everything you may need, many nice walks along river and into the village where there is a pub serving good food. Host and Molly dog were very friendly, ideally located to visit other places like Scarborough and if you like football, Elland Road is not too far away.

Wonderful cosy retreat ...
Everything was perfect, from the excellent communication from Lucy leading up to the stay, to the friendly welcome from her and husband Chris, and their lovely dog Molly. The property was exactly as advertised, really beautifully furnished, immaculately clean, really cosy with underfloor heating, and all the amenities you need for a home from home stay. I stayed with my dog, Betty, and we were both really happy with all the fabulous walks that had been detailed for us and left in a handy folder with websites and postcodes for the satnav. Also, as I was on my own, this particular property was ideal as it's really privately, securely tucked away at the rear of the owner's beautiful house. I felt very safe, and I had the best sleep that I have had in ages. Completely and utterly recommend this property and I will definitely be revisiting, as three days was not enough to explore all the wonderful surroundings which are ideally located within an hour of the property. Local walks were ideal, along the banks of the River Ouse just a short walk from the cottage. The owner's dog, Molly, made my Betty very welcome, and was always very pleased to see us, she is adorable. Can't speak highly enough of my experience and highly recommend it. I really felt quite sad leaving today, as we have had the most wonderful time away. Thank you to Lucy, Chris and Molly for making us feel so welcome xx
