"We had a lovely stay, with a friendly host who made sure we had information about the surrounding areas and places to visit. This is the first time a host had spent time with us in the evening for a glass of wine and talking."

"Quinta Trás o Rio is a large house, set in the hills outside the coastal town of Viia Praia de Âncora. It has six bedrooms, a swimming pool, large garden and ample parking. Its location in the hills ensures cooling breezes for a comfortable temperature in Summer. Porto airport is 50 minutes away. The house itself is stone built and rather rambling once inside. There are numerous stairs both inside and out. My ten year old grandson christened it : The House of Stairs. Families with toddlers...

"Heerlijk verblijf. Heerlijke tuin met zwembad. 25 min lopen van restaurantjes. Enige minpunt: Er hangt 1 airco op overloop voor het hele huis, dat werkt dus niet op de kamers. In zomer warm. Je kunt wel ramen tegen elkaar open zetten maar blijft tot half de nacht heel warm in huis. "

"Property was well equipped and the hosts really welcoming, with generous welcome back of produce - even rescued us when we got lost in the countryside on the way! Outside kitchen, pool, scenery and games room fabulous. Property typical of the area so very dark inside but when weather is great there is hardly any need to be inside - we cooked outside for all our meals including breakfast. Position is a bit out of the way for some of the north Portugal towns we like to visit so needed the car and...

"Wie hatten einen sehr schönen und erholsamen Urlaub. Das alte, schön hergerichtete Haus liegt sehr ruhig auf einem großen Grundstück neben dem Haus der Vermieter, die den Garten auch nutzen, aber so, dass man sich nicht gegenseitig stört. Die Vermieter sind sehr gastfreundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen auch mit den Tieren (Hunde, Hühner und Katze) die auch auf dem Grundstück umherlaufen.
